Due to repeated questions in the thread here are additional details.
The $300 Verizon GC offer is tied to purchasing a smartphone online. You are eligible to claim this offer for every order transaction regardless if you are placing an order for 1 phone/line or 10 phones/lines.
The $200 Verizon GC offer folks have been receiving via sales chat/phone is a switch promotion. I am not able to find the terms for this offer but in the past this has been an available offer which requires you to port in from a non Verizon carrier that includes the various Verizon prepaids and MNVOs.
To my knowledge these Verizon GC offers have 12 month service terms or you will be charged back "claw back"
There are currently 2 separate iPhone 16 offers.
- the offer in this post which involves the trade in of any Apple, Google, and Samsung device for $1000 in bill credits with new lines
- no trade in required to receive $1000/$820/$640 in bill credits with new lines for the Ultimate/Plus/Welcome plans respectively
When you add the phone to the cart you must choose the right offer otherwise you will not go through the workflow with the step to add a trade in.
In addition if you enter a non Apple, Google, or Samsung device during the trade in you will receive the actual value of the device, including $0 if its older to be recycled,
AND you'll be defaulted to the non trade in promotion.
This is the reason at checkout some people are seeing $10/month or $5/month because they've selected the Welcome or Plus plan respectively and the non trade in offer has been applied.
There have also been a lot of "can I trade in XXX phone?".
The terms state you can trade in ANY Apple, Google, or Samsung phone in any condition. In my experience the any condition is intentionally meant to covered cracked screens and aesthetic damages. The device should turn on and function well enough that the IMEI can be retrieved and have no swelling/damaged battery (for safe handling reasons). Regarding any phone from the 3 manufacturers the process is constrained by the system and the list of devices/imei in its database. Be reasonable and don't expect extremely obscure or foreign region only devices to come up.
You can determine for yourself if a device qualifies for the $1000 by going through the online order process. You will need to enter the IMEI so you must have the device in hand. If you are not getting the $1000 value then you likely have not selected the right offer when adding the phone to the cart or your device is too obscure. I've attached screenshots of 2 devices that have been inquired about (A03 and 5c) showing the $1000 trade in amount.

But I had the exact opposite experience. 😒 I did not receive a Trade-in kit at all. The Chat rep did take down details of all 4 Trade-in phones, at the same time when I first ordered the new phones. I did not bother to follow up for 3 weeks as I was still migrating stuff over from my Android phone to new iPhone. When I did phone to inquire about sending in my Trade-ins, the CS rep suggested that she could either send a return kit OR I could go into a Corporate store and drop off the phones there (the Store is just 10 mins away). She even set up an appointment at the store, and so I thought this would be a convenient way to send the Trade-ins. The rep at the store was willing to help but after looking at my account details for a few minutes, he says that my Trade-in had already been initiated online and so he could NOT take the phones in at the store. 😑 But he offered to print a return label and gave me a box for the phones as well. And I had to drop off the box at a Fedex store 😐️ (don't know why the store couldn't keep my box and send it with Fedex person who picks up their daily mail); whatever. I take pics and video of al the phones in the box along with the return label and a printed page of the "Trade-in Receipt" that details the description and IMIE of all my Trade-in phones. I found the "Trade-in Receipt" document in the "Bill & Payments history" --> "Documents and Receipts" tab in my Verizon account online. Knowing that Verizon does have a record of my Trade-in phones, I dropped off the box at Fedex which arrived the next day at a Verizon warehouse.
10 days later, and apparently they are still "processing" my Trade-in. 😟 At no stage in this process did I receive any confirmation emails from Verizon. I only have Fedex tracking proof that the phones are at a Verizon warehouse. The only reason I am NOT TOTALLY FREAKING OUT is because yesterday a CS rep agreed to manually credit 2 months worth of trade-in credit - he verified in his 'systems' that the phones arrived and I qualify for the trade-ins. He further assured me that trade-in credits will start showing up in my next bill. 😐️ Of course, the 2 months credits will only post in the next "few" days 🙄, so I am still on edge.
So, if you follow a Verizon process that works (but even their CS reps don't know their most effective processes), then you're fine. If you happen to stray off their functional path, then be prepared to be...patient. I hope the process/fight for the $200 rebate (x4) is not as exhausting.
Based on this planning, I skipped any trade-in hassle and I picked up the new phone in the next day from a VZ store
After 3 months, I would switch to T-mobile to cover $800 and after a month with them, I would go to a cheaper plan.
If they would not claw back the $200 GC offer from VZ, the phone would be effectively free (the terms state that I must stay with VZ for 12 months).

Weird that you got no status emails. If anything, I would say the process generated too much email.
Finally, another odd aspect. I got my first bill before I ever mailed the phones, but the trade in credit was already applied as expected. My first bill also included paper free credit. In other words, my first bill was exactly same as every other bill I will have for total of 36 month, if that makes sense. No weird charges or need to adjust anything at all.
I think I really lucked out with 3rd Rep during the chat, everything been 100% on point.
The phones took a while to be delivered to VZ warehouse, but once received, I got a set of emails that phones have arrived and will be reviewed. It took them few days, but eventually I got a separate email for each phone approval trade in value.
I asked the agent how to avoid this same issue with the other phones that I will be porting over the weekend as I prefer not to have to call in each time but I didn't get a clear answer. Any recommendations?
