I wouldn't, this is still just 4g. You'd probably want one that will have 5g. In my area though Tmobile 4g is getting 90mbps

My suggestion is don't get this. It's 4G only. If you get a 5G one instead, it will give you better speeds and still fall back to 4G if you don't get coverage.
So what's your suggestion of 5G one that currently onsale or consider a deal?

Can you add existing T-Mobile sim with unlimited data in this?
Sim cards for mobile phones (voice) won't work. T-Mobile offers data only plans for devices like these. A few MVNOs offer data only - like Tello. And, there is a "hidden" plan for 30GB per month from T-Mobile here: https://slickdeals.net/f/17923848-30gb-t-mobile-internet-byod-hotspot-10-mo-after-autopay

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank MozartA

If you read reviews of various mobile hotspot sold by this 3rd party seller, some reviews said the hotspot they received was locked out by T-mobile probably because it is not paid off so Tmobile lock it out or stolen, etc. And some of the hot spot still assigned to other Tmobile user, etc.

Seems like this seller doesn't verify if the hotspot actually work before selling them(?)

I thought everyone had one or two of these from when t-mobile was giving them away during their "testdrive" promo.

T-Mobile typically sell that hidden 30GB hotspot with an add on line and Franklin 4G device for 3.99 per month !! So in effect you are paying about $100 for the device .
If you are lucky you can buy this refurb and provide them imei to activate .

90 mbps, Bellingham, WA, good TMO has really good service where I am, I actually leave my phone on 4g only to save battery. If you have TMO phone turn off the 5G band on your phone and test on speedtest.com or fast com

Wish hotspot devices had ethernet out, otherwise could just use old smartphone
I've compared this with an extra 5G smartphone and this is way more reliable as a hotspot in spite of only being 4G.
