A bunch of decent deals here, but I do note that some systems (particularly desktops) appear to have had their prices raised prior to this sale. And 45%-50% off certain models is not difficult to find outside of BF. Almost everything is 11th gen Intel or older.

Usual caveats regarding Dell Refurbished items (search SD for prior threads) apply.

Agreed this looks not great.

Yes, many products report 0%-off or 5%-off base.

Dell Refurbished (actually it's FedEx Recycling, not Dell) will have 45%-off or 50%-off throughout the year - but on systems where they've already taken off 12%-27% off their base. Those deals are actually much better.

Although 50% appears to match other 50%-off deals throughout the year, their BASE PRICE is either regular (no initial discount) or tiny (5%-off). You're guaranteed to see 50%-off return in December or January along with items discounted 12%-27%-off base, before 50% is taken off.

Regarding Dell Laptops, especially Latitudes, we've had two fail after the 90-day warranty but less than the one year mark. We've lost about $550 on 2 "grade A" laptops. Although those "business quality" Latitudes were supposed to be of much higher durability, I was shocked at how two separate Latitude orders ultimately failed - with no consideration from FedEx Recycling (after 90 days).

Much better odds with non-laptops or non-Latitude-Laptops. (YMMV. There will be some that say they made out well, so far.) We're bought non-laptop items from FedEx Recycling and they've survived well.

Better refurbishing and better warranties are available from Dell Outlet (real Dell) rather than 3rd parties like FedEx Recycling. Dell Outlet will often replace components with Dell inventory. We discovered that FedEx Recycling will also use new/used cheaper NON-DELL components (memory, drives, keyboards, etc.) that they'll use for refurbishing components of systems.

Thanks, this is quite helpful.

Dell refurbished vs buying on eBay and getting a 1 year All-State?

Seems ebay is much lower on same system.

Obviously you should buy a 1 yr warranty on Dell refurbished

Exactly what you said.

When it comes to refurbishing at FedEx Recycling ("Dell Refurbished"), there's only so much they can do with laptops, compared to desktops. They can do a great job refurbishing Desktops by doing a thorough cleaning and an easy replacement of components - though FedEx Recycling will sometimes use non-Dell cheaper components.

Laptops just get a quick testing and a quick clean - as well as a drive wipe. Even that hasn't been perfect with some getting previous corporate or gov't registrations (etc.) remaining on their system.

the big risk IMO is that you get a complete system failure.. .so it's not the few hundred dollars but the data, etc that you lose..

that said, I've purchased a few dell latitudes on FB marketplace from resellers with no warranty that have held up.
