If you buy a Fluance with the servo motor isolated from the turntable then yes, I would say Fluance is better (RT-82 fits this bill and is worth the extra $50 in my opinion).

If you buy a low-end Fluance, I would suggest the only way it is better or worse than this Denon will depend on your speakers and your personal preferences which are of course subjective when it comes to audio.

As I mentioned before, this Denon has a replaceable cartridge, that's really where most of your sound quality is coming from if you go far enough down the rabbit hole...
Turntable Labs has this same turntable with an upgraded Ortofon 2M Red cartridge installed for $269. This is $30 less than what you'd pay buying this deal + the upgraded cartridge. Certainly not required for everyone, but its a good upgrade.

I own this turntable. It has a built-in pre-amp that you can choose to enable or disable.

I'm not a Sonos user but given that you can choose whether or not to use the pre-amp, I guarantee you you can connect, it's just a question of how. Turntable has R/L RCA output connections. You might need to buy an adapter to plug into your Sonos... Again, not a Sonos user.

For what it's worth, this is a great budget turntable and I got it at this price 5 years ago so given inflation I'd say it's a good deal.

The cartridge is replaceable as well, allowing for additional upgrades.

Will work with one of the newer speakers, either an Era 100 or 300, but you'll need an adapter. The Five or Play Five should work without an adapter.

Will work with a Five.

Set a 2000 ms delay and it stream all over your house.

Have this setup but with a Sony player.

Is it worth paying extra for something like a fluance rt82? First time owner here and I always see that being recommended

Yes. If you have the funds get the RT82. It's higher quality. This Denon is for those on a budget, but it's a good buy at this price

I do not own the Denon but I can certainly vouch for the Fluance being a quality table for the cost. I bought one for my son and I like it. I own 5 other turntables. If it was my money, I'd just spend a little extra and get the Fluance.

You need to Sonos with the input. I believe that era100 has an input. You need a preamp between the turntable and the regular input. But this turntable has a preamp. Or you can switch it off and use your own preamp.

I have this turntable. I'm looking at it right now. After the needle gets to the end and the side is over the arm automatically go back to home position and then turn off. Not turntables do this some others, including good ones, especially good ones, just spin and tell you manually stop it and return the arm to Home. I make sure my daily driver is an automatic.

Geek out on needles and invest in one you like .

Can it work with passive speakers or does it need powered speakers?
