It has been $1 less a couple days after Christmas
My annual post to remind everyone that virtually NO ONE needs any Turbotax version higher than Deluxe (and those that do already know it)

Although Intuit advertising will say things like Premier or H&B are recommended for people with certain circumstances the fact is that Deluxe includes all the forms you need.

In your case litesdsd, you definitely do not need anything more than Deluxe, it can handle brokerage/stock transactions just fine.

To avoid the usual replies every year, this only applies to the download/desktop version of TT, the online version of the service is completely different and the deluxe service offering online doesn't cover the same thing that the deluxe desktop version does.

https://turbotax.intuit.com/perso...e/desktop/

I'm self-employed and used Deluxe for years. SE do not need home & business, if you need the "extra help" that H&B claims to have fine but if your tax situation is the same as last year then paying more doesn't make any sense.

Tried to buy. For whatever reason, Amazon wants me to reenter all my credit card numbers to be able to buy this. Just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Synchrony and they won't give me my Amazon Store Card account number except by mail, and only if I upload a video with my ID.

Just tried to buy something else and all my credit cards and store card are saved as normal. Dafuq is going on. Guess I'll just skip taxes this year
Additional security measure for digital purchases. This will probably be the same price or $1 less sometime between December 26-29. Sounds like that'll be your time.

After I set my Discover card as the default, to get the $15 credit, Amazon wanted me to enter the full card number for security. Not just the Discover but all the cards.

Keep in mind that most of the forms aren't released until January anyway, so getting it this early is sort of pointless. I like to buy at the end of year sale - and even so - it's usually several weeks before I can get even a rough estimate of taxes.
That's a secret you just disclosed. Several years TT was updated around Jan end with correct calculations.

They don't disclose this, once I found changes after submission, second time just re-opening showed additional credit.

Folks need to download updates till Jan end at least and then rework thru the steps to ensure to get correct exemption and credit.

Best to not submit before mid Feb or March.

I ordered this (Deluxe + State + $10 gift card) a few minutes ago and my credit card was charged $35.99. With the $10 gift card, are we essentially getting this for $25.99?

You'll get charged for the gift card when it's being prepared to ship since it's a physical one.

Can someone tell me the differences between the TurboTax versions. I'm not sure why but in the past I've always bought the Home&Business version. I have a fairly simple tax return but do have two brokerage accounts with some stock trading done in 2024.
