The Straight Talk site is misleading. The price is actually $199.99 after $100 off, not $100 off $199.99. A plan purchase is required, but the price in the cart is still $199.99.

Shows $99.99 for me with $35 plan at cart.

Edge 2024 256GB is still Free with 3 month Silver plan for $130 higher end phone with 2 android OS updates instead of 1 on this Moto series.

The better deals would be from Total wireless. 49 for the phone + 55 plan for one month. Total 109 with tax.

except with Total Wireless you have to verify identity by providing photo id, not everyone is willing to do that

Walmart has this (straight talk) for $99 as well. No plan purchase necessary. Also has the simple mobile version for $99, also no purchase necessary. Worth noting that you can rebrand straight talk phones to tracfone by calling tracfone and simply asking them to do it. Then you can add an existing tracfone plan (or purchase a new plan) to activate the phone and it will still unlock in 2 months. Just ensure you activate with the same sim that comes with the phone so you don't run into troubles unlocking later on.

Would still get Edge 2024 256GB Free with $130 3 month silver plan. Higher end phone 68W charging Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 with support Android 15/16 Moto G series only supports 1 OS upgrade.

I do like the Edge but the fact it doesn't come with SD Card expansion, a 3.5mm jack, and a flat screen has me leaning towards the Stylus.

To be clear, the phone comes with 1 month, and in a month you need to add another prepaid card or is this tied to a credit/debit card for the second payment required to unlock?

you leave phone inactive for 2nd month it will unlock once connected to wifi around end of 59th day after activation. i am 4/4 on tracfone unlocks with only 1 month service.

Once activated you text UNLOCK to 611611 it will reply with the unlock date.

It was un clear to me on the other thread and I do need a new phone. It seems so stupid to me that we have to jump through the hoops. I got no problem even paying for the service because it will get me a portable phone number for another deal down the road .. I think I can struggle with my cracked phone untill then, or just add the new phone # to my gv and use this untill it is unlocked...

BTW.. Has only one got the straight talk phone unlocked and got service with Visible after? I would think it is a no brainer, but Visible sold me moto6g and they wont let me back on with that so I have issues with visible anyway. The Mint Mobile $180 per year deal looks good o me today and they had no problem with my old 6e phone either.

I went with the Stylus 2024 over the Edge 2024 because it has a sd card slot. Got mine from Metro for $35. I use my Stylus 2024 for emulation up to Yuzu.

Sorry to ask. New to this who rebranding. If I bought the Moto (Straight Talk) from Walmart and I have a Tracfone plan at the moment, I can convert the Moto phone over. Is that correct. Not sure the steps involved. Thanks

Yes. Any straight talk phone can be converted to Tracfone (and you can use your tracfone service on it). You have to contact Tracfone's customer service and ask them to rebrand the phone and activate it with you tracfone plan.
