This is the older sander, newer sander is much better, those batteries are pretty common on marketplace. FYI. But still not a bad deal

I wouldn't get it . The weight balance feels very off with any battery bigger then a 2.0. It's even worse when you connect a vacuum hose and try to move it around. The dust collection is pretty good though when connected to a shop vac.

The Milwaukee is a less than stellar sander for sure.

If you are doing any real amount of sanding you will want corded
BOSCH ROS20VSC [amazon.com] MSRP $60 regularly found on sale for $40
You would be hard pressed to find a better sander sub $200

If you insist on cordless
BOSCH GEX18V-5N 18V [acmetools.com] is one of the best cordless sanders.
Even the $25 Harbor Freight [harborfreight.com] is better than the Milwuakee.

I'm not normally a Bosch fanboy but they do make functional sanders at reasonable prices that last.
