Finally some deals for customers like me on older plans, I jumped on the previous deal for 800 trade on a old S9 I picked up on ebay. (trying to see if I can get buds).
I get what you are saying for those on the newer Go5G plans but I pay less than those MVNOs per line with my current plan.

The private Swappa seller I ordered from, turned out to be a scammer and sent me a phone with severe screen flickering even though it was advertised in excellent condition.
Swappa just redirects you to file a paypal dispute

That being said, my ebay S9 ($89) came in great condition and matching IEMI, awaiting ebay S10 ($84) , and a samsung S21 ($99) samsung renewed. Both the ebay seller send me the IMEI prior to shipping. Worst case i'll trade in the S21

Since we're traveling soon we have them adjusting to pick it up in a local store which has plenty of them.
update: lol the customer service rep lied. The store couldn't do anything to transfer it over. Man customer support has really gone downhill on tmobile.

They have no support in case of issues and pawn you off to paypal.

Mine also says that and also put the wrong name and no apartment number on it and I was told I can't update either, so idk if they'll even get it to me
