Amazon seems to do this quite frequently. You'll see it often for Prime Days - priced are raised, coupon codes are offered making the product the old price but advertised as a deal. After prime days are over, the price goes back to normal.

Since it was a staff member that posted this, probably got some kind of compensation from Woot/Amazon for it. Especially considering it is front page with no comments.
