Might not be an issue for you but yes it is for many.

The soundlink takes twice as long to charge due its microusb. And at full charge it only last 6 hours compared to 12 hours with speakers that out today. Don't have a problem with Bose, they have other speakers better than this one. This one is just outdated.

Been wanting one of these for a while now. Thanks op
Great speaker. I paid $99.00 at Best Buy years ago when these first came out. I still have it and use it almost daily. My go to travel speaker. Small but sounds amazing. Built like a tank. I've dropped it numerous times.
Highly recommend

I agree. I feel that those who are dissing this speaker is mainly due to its size and that they don't own it. IMO it's one of the best sounding "micro" speakers. It sounds a lot bigger than its size.

The cool thing about Bose products are the longevity. They literally last forever.
I have a Bose Acoustimass system that is over 40 years old and still sounds amazing.

If you're looking for something with the strap and USB-C, I've been using the TribitStormbox Micro 2 [amazon.com] on my bikes for a couple years, and it's been great. $50 today with coupon. Not the most amazing sound, but definitely good enough for bike riding.

Bose makes fine stuff, but definitely not worth the brand name premium. I normally pay a little less and get JBL, and Anker's Soundcore has come a long way in the last few years. If you're looking for a shower speaker, I personally prefer the JBL Flip since it's essentially the same shape/size as a shampoo bottle for easy placement.
Stormbox Micro 2 is absolutely the superior speaker of the two. EQ customization via the app makes it versatile while charging and battery life will be much better than this relic of a Bose speaker.

Waiting for a sale on the flex too. I sort of regret not catching it for 57 dollars refurb on ebay. Nowadays it's the same type fake sale they tend to have. 89 sale, then goes up to 102 with whatever percent off which brings it right back to 89...don't know why that stupid trend continues...if it ever comes back at 58, getting for sure
I did not realize Bose Flex went down to $58. Great deal!

Try Bose Flex. Flex sound has a deeper bass and sounds much better than Micro.

People still buying a product with the micro USB is the problem. Why pay good money for outdated tech? It's like buying a VHS tape when DVD was dominating the market.

This little speaker sounds great for its size, especially at low volume the bass is still audible. Have one for over five years, used almost every day and still going. In for another. Thank OP! The Flex is louder but heavier and less portable.

I don't care if it's micro or USB-C. Charges the same. It's still a good deal.

Instantly killed it for me. At this point anything non USB C is basically a proprietary charger.
