Wanted to create a New thread for this....Now that it's Official the Youtube TV price increase in 2025 of 16% - from $72.99 to 82.99/month+taxes (in some states)...

If you go to Cancel your subscription, it will ask you the Reason - choose 'Cost' - I got a pop up saying Stay with us for 6 months at $72.99.... and Agree. Mine says 72.99 until June 2025 -
I will say, I got a generic confirmation email saying a Promo was applied to my account, However no details about the discount or how long --- I did print the screen with the pop up for my records.... also noticed when I first checked my account it said 12/27 - $72.99 and after I did the Cancel and looked again at the Billing page - it shows 12/27 - $82.99....
so time will tell.
EDITED to say - not sure if you're better off waiting until beginning of Jan to get full 6 months or if it matters - mines says promo good til June 2025...so I'll either get 5 months discounted or maybe 6 if they don't charge 82.99 in June.

How else are they going to pay for Sunday Ticket?
Sunday Ticket is a separate fee for customers and has nothing to do with the price hike.

I have never paid for Cable or any TV product in my time. When I worked on a ski resort we got cable included I never watched it. When I had cable internet they wanted me to add cable TY for $5 a month.

Almost 50 years on the planet and don't understand the desire to pay for TV. There are so many legal ways to get shows.

Even if you live in the middle of no where you can get lots of free shows.

Is this a sports ball thing? TV news is junk. The best shows can be owned for very little money. You can run a decent Jellyfin server on an old laptop that you could likely get for free. Back up all your media that you won.

Its very cheap and easy to set up an over the air DVR if you have TV stations near by.
Good for you and yes this is mainly a sports thing since all the options you mentioned will not get you access to very many live sporting events. As others have mentioned, it's very convenient having access to YoutubeTV on your phone and when you travel. I was just in Hawaii and since almost every VRBO/Hotel has a smart TV you can easily log into YoutubeTV and have instant access to all my shows, sports, and news. Also, not all TV news is junk. I find it very convenient to DVR record news from almost EVERY channel which YouTubeTV allows you to do. It's very convenient when there is a local situation occurring (fires for example) and I want to get the latest news on evacuations, road closures, etc. Also, you are missing out on a wide variety of very attactive weather girls which is an added bonus. lol.

My next billing date is 12/29 so I think I"m going to roll the dice and hope that this $60 offer is good until then. I think it will be. If I do it now it would go up to $82.99 on 6/29 which is actually only 5 more months at $72.99 since the first increase wouldn't occur for me until 1/29. I'm pretty sure if I wait until 12/30 it won't go up until 7/29. I think it's a bit deceiving of them to put "Save $60" because I'm pretty sure that most folks that do it today will only get a savings of $50. I think people are forgetting that their December bill is still $72.99 and Google knows that most people won't do the math like me.

Rolling the dice for an extra $10. Why not. I'm a gambling man. I think if it somehow goes away that I can call and still get the discount. Why would they deny somebody the same discount that they just gave to millions of users?

I love how this is a "hot deal". Streaming services are gouging your eyes out with price increases, tightening restrictions, putting paywalls on higher resolutions, instituting ad-paid tiers and canceling content, yet people continue to open their wallets for the sake of pleasing the shareholder. If you're paying for this now, and continue to do so, you're part of the problem.
No, it's for the sake of being able to watch sporting events. YTTV is STILL the best deal even at $82.99 which is crazy but true. For me it's all about the unlimited DVR. I record everything so I can skip commercials for EVERYTHING I watch. I'd be curious to know what your solution is. If you are ranting just to rant without providing any alternate solution than you're the problem.

so for YT tv, how much is the total oop with 4k option? we pay $140 total for fios (same channels as YT) with gigabit (triple play but never use landline).
using tivos around house for 10+ yrs (4-tuner lifetime with minis). Now that vz/comcast stopped giving cablecards, wondering if this is next for us if something breaks. 3 streams is limiting. How much extra for more streams?

Yup another increase. I'll try this if not moving to Fubo a couple of dollars less and more channels. I think $78??
