"alcohol-only deliveries not eligible"
Wonder if you add a soda pop with the whiskey if they'll deliver 😁
Sounds like most other 'free delivery'. Hey it's 'free' but we don't pay our drivers shit. So you better tip if you want everything to show up. But don't worry it's free

Idk why they specifically mentioned that. Im not a legal expert but maybe they want to keep their promos squarely 'encouraging normal grocery sales' or something. Idk.

I think this promo pops up once a yr or so. I didnt realize they messaged me until I checked upon reading about another walmart offer.

Be aware that this promo is basically seperate than a delivery driver tip.

Because with alcohol they have to "card" people.
They don't want the delivery people to have to deal with that hassle.

For those that have used this express delivery service, is it with Walmart's own In-Home delivery service, or is it with a 3rd party service?

After a simple Google search:

Walmart InHome delivery is performed by Walmart employees; specifically, trained associates who are considered full-time Walmart employees and undergo background checks before delivering for the InHome service.

I understand that the in-home delivery is serviced with Walmart Employees, I use it every week.

But I am curious if the express delivery delivery service, uses the same Walmart in-home delivery employees, where a tip is not required, OR is it delivered with non-Walmart employees, i.e., a third-party service like Uber eats, etc., where a tip is required.

Ah, I misread what you typed. No, they use both. It's hit or miss with me. I would say just over half of the time, it's a 3rd party. Those Walmart trucks are always parked and idle outside of the curb side pickup area where my deliveries come from. One of them has had a flat tire for over a month now.

I've only used it a few times, but those times it was delivered by a third party. With the typical Walmart orders usually everything shows up, bc Walmart employees collect the items and know where things are located. With express I would get the same text as if I placed an Instacart order, the "your shopper as started shopping, they will let you know of any substitutions" or something like that. And there are always a lot more "out of stock" items compared to when I do just a scheduled Walmart delivery

It doesn't say no alcohol at all, it just says no deliveries that are ONLY alcohol, so this wouldn't have any effect at all on needing to card.
