Well it's about as cheap as you'll find a burr grinder but many reviews say don't bother…. I say save up for the oxo burr grinder that's 3x the price but 6x as good.

I used to be that all coffee grinders were hand cranked burr grinders. The cheap wooden boxes screwed into your kitchen counter. Now it's 'fancy'. I wonder at what point people begin realizing that they had a higher standard of living 100 years ago.

100 years ago people drank robusta that was unlikely to be fresh or of decent quality. Though that's hardly a standard of living.
100 years ago people still had to worry about polio, smallpox and measles. Jim Crow laws ruled much of the land. Most people still didn't have powered refrigeration at home. Access to doctors, other than the general practitioner down the street, was pretty much nonexistent. Police were unrestrained by burdens of proof or civil liberties. Most people still didn't have access to personal motor vehicles. Entertainment was pretty much reading (if literate, of course) and drinking. Child mortality was still a major issue. The people of the world were readying to slaughter each other en masse. Air conditioning was pretty much a pipe dream for most.
But, yeah, coffee grinders used to all be burr grinders. What a time to live.

You don't need to sell me on it. I'm already on board.
