Most wholesale clubs require your existing membership to be expired for 6-months before you're eligible for new membership discounts. Alternatively, you can sign up with a different email address with the new membership discount and potentially combine those memberships at a later time. If you choose this route, I suggest contacting customer service on the phone and not going to the service desk in-store, that worked for me at BJ's after being denied at the desk - ymmv. NOTE: Be sure they keep your old email address on the combined memebership so you can wash and repeat with the alternate email address in the future. Good luck!

While being in the "ghetto" may be a deterrent…. $15-20 isn't .. my Sam's club is consistently 50-70 cents cheaper per gallon on gas than the gas stations around me . Each fill up saves me 8-10 doll hairs making a $15-20$ membership worth it

My Costco membership expires in 10 days. I have my wife as an "Associate," but she never used it once as we are always together and use my card. I can go to my account online and delete her. Would that allow me to get one of these in her name? If I had not put her down as an associate with no record of her, could it not have worked to flip-flop and use the one account, as we are always together at Costco? The closest Costco is 50 miles away, so we go so infrequently that the full membership cost is not worth it. However, if reduced a good deal, it will be palatable.

Which one to choose? In my area Costco is the most popular. I was there last week, and the parking lot was jammed. On Thursday, a workday.!!

no. deals are generally not on-going, for like six months. you would really have to have been a contrary sort if you knew about slickdeals and you'd paid more than 20 for a sams club membership in the last nine months.

If you are the primary, she should be able to do it. It would be her signing up for a new membership even before yours expires. Then she could add you as a secondary to her card after your membership expires.

How about for a business account? If I have a Costco card because someone added me to their business account, but I would rather have my own personal Costco membership, can I use this deal?

The problem with Sams is that it is too far from me. Costcos are geographically in better locations. I also was near a Sams to kill time before going to the airport to pick someone up and there was literally nothing I felt worth buying . There are one or two items that I get at Sams that Costco does not carry. I paid $20 got free movie tickets that I never used. Upgraded to Plus for $45 , then they nixed free shipping unless you spend over $50. Membership expires in a few months, will call and complain about the Plus changes and get a refund. Gas was super cheap , better than Costco or BJs but like I said , too far to go to normally

I wander around BJs too and I think its overpriced for the most part. Of course sales are ok and very good sometimes. Their gas is cheaper than Costco near me so I go there sometimes for the gas
