Etsy used to be for the hand crafter, but they're squeezing out the little guy by charging exorbitant fees, punishing sellers for not offering things like free or heavily discounted shipping (after also taking a percentage of the shipping cost in fees), and allowing cheap factory made chinese goods to flood their listings and drown out the real makers. I will never buy on Etsy due to this. It sucks that individual makers get the shaft, but I won't support Etsy's profit first business model while riding high on the backs of makers that made it a thing in the first place.

is it 50% off of items up to $20? Or is it a max of $20 off?

It's not that confusing.... just read the first post and you'll see that certain Etsy accounts can get 50% off their purchase before shipping, for a total maximum of $20 off. So, doing the math, a $40 item will get you the best value, unless you have the AmEx offer that others have posted in this thread.

I posted from my phone, and it wouldn't let me submit this deal without putting a dollar amount so I just put $1.
