Generally, if you're tilting your TV, that means it's mounted too high.

If you don't ever plan on getting behind your tv to plug new stuff in, get this.
This. I have this tv mount in my living room and it's a nightmare to have to change out HDMIs. I wish it could swivel, and do NOT recommend this mount.

G4 comes with a bracket in the box.
Darn, well there goes my plan to use a $9 mount to hold my $5k TV 6 feet off the ground.

It does, you can slide the entire length of the wall mount, but....

You want a mount that can hit 3 studs for large TVs, so you need one of the 34" wide mounting brackets, not a 20 or 28".

Studs are generally 16" on center, so attach the bracket to 3 studs (using 6 lag bolts), then slide the TV over to where you want it.

Although it's $6 more, spanning the load over 3 studs is worth it for the Harbor Freight:

(and yes, the box was printed before TVs over 70" were a thing; but I've used these on 89" TVs a bunch of times this past year)

Yes. It will slide back and forth on the mounting bracket.

Good tip on the 3 stud length! Have never mounted a large tv before, and was wondering how to center it on the wall with a two stud mount

If a 2 stud mount does not line up correctly, you can feed 2x4 scrap backer lumber through the holes that will become the 2-gang electrical & low voltage boxes.

If you are not "handy", you should have someone help you do this the first time; just so you can see how it's done.

This will require 2 "old work, double gang" boxes, because the holes they require will allow 2x4 scrap to be fed into it:

But the 3 stud mounts will probably give you 9+ inches of side to side adjustment room, and an easier mounting than installing backer boards.

This looks like a rebrand of the one I have - if so, you can slide it side to die as long as there is enough space on the bracket mounted to the wall

All hanging ones do except the ones with an arm. So YES this would.

Do you mean it is better only for larger TVs because it is more secure, or that you get more leeway to slide and center properly, or both? Wouldn't 2 stud be fine for most TVs say 55" and below?

Both.

But yes, 2 studs will hold a smaller TV, no problem (assuming a 'perfect' installation, meaning you actually hit the center of each stud, and used 3/8" or larger Lag Bolts, installed to a depth of 3" )

This mounting bracket is under 34", so it is a 2 stud mount.

(The dimensions pic says it is 28" wide.)
