The only real saving graces of this laptop are the fact that the screen is 120hz and ips instead of tn, the ssd is 512gb, and the ports are decent.
Nonetheless, the rest of the specs are mediocre. The 7520u is lackluster as described above, you're stuck with 8gb of ram which is the absolute bare minimum in 2024 meaning this laptop will struggle to run windows well within a couple of years, it has significantly outdated wifi 5, the keyboard isn't backlit, and the battery is only 41whr. Also, on an anecdotal note, the budget inspiron chassis has a poorer than average reputation for premature hinge failure, at least with older models.
Even if you're dead set on a dell inspiron laptop (which I would generally be leery of recommending due to the reported hinge issues), there are occasional deals for the i5-1235u version of the inspiron with a much better processor and an additional ram slot for upgrades at $300 or less ($270 and below being easy if you know the right hoops to jump through). Likewise, for around $50-$70 cheaper than the i5-1235u version is the i3-1215u version ($250 on sale from dell right now, and potentially cheaper with 10% sign up code, cb, and/or id.me), which once again is at minimum on par with the 7520u and has the additional sodimm slot for upgradeable ram. They're the older inspiron 3520 chassis with no usb type-c port and ram limited to ddr4 2666, but they're still a better value than the laptop in this deal by a mile.
This also isn't even mentioning all the various other deals from different oem's, and the exceptional value you can get if you're willing to purchase refurbished.
This laptop is simply a bad value, and I struggle to find a reason why anyone actively looking for deals should even consider it. The fact it reached frontpage utterly baffles me. If it was $230 or maybe $250 or below I could maybe see an argument being made for someone heavily prioritizing the screen on a budget, but being stuck with only 8gb of ram should absolutely be a deal breaker at this price.
