Are you saying these are overpriced because you've seen the exact same tools for less, or do you just not value quality tools?
Made in Germany > Made in China

These tools are for professionals and not DIY homeowners
I disagree. DIY homeowners benefit from buying tools for life.

Thx, OP.

wera Allen keys are a game changer. Finally bought my own set instead of borrowing from others when mine fail.
If you get the chance, try the concave-sided Wera Allens that come in Zyklop Speed Ratchet Set [amazon.com]. They reinvented the game with those.

Not even funny how overpriced most of this is.
quality tools are more expensive than cheap tools made for home gamer use. they might look similar - but the quality stuff works better, lasts longer and costs more.

Knipex consistently beats other top level tools in bend or break resistance. Hard to beat that brand. If you are an average joe workin on your lawn mower you don't need these tools so no need to start complaining that you can't afford them. lol.

I've just research the heck out of pliers wrenches lately for gifts. Knipex invented and patented them in 1994. Patent ran out in 2008. Still not a ton of copies for some reason. I just picked up some of the new Klein pliers wrenches on sale at Lowe's for $25 (7") and $30 (10"). This sell for $40ish a Knipex pliers wrench looks like a great deal to me. If you want a matching set, Knipex makes way more sizes than everyone else. Here's some of the competition. EDIT: In for the 5 set lol. Klein tools might go back.

Kobalt 6" Pliers Wrench in Combo Set - $15 [lowes.com]
Klein Tools 7" [lowes.com] and 10" [lowes.com] Pliers Wrench - $25/30
Klien Tools 7", 10" [amazon.com], 12" with reversible jaws - TBD/$50/TBD
SK 10" pliers wrench - $27 [amazon.com]
Harbor Freight Icon 10" pliers wrench - $40 [harborfreight.com]
Knipex - 4", 5", 6", 7 1/4", 10", 12", 16" (chrome and black steel finishes available, dipped comfort grip, and insulated handles available)

Never bought from Woot. Do they sell the same exact new items as from Amazon? Any difference in quality, manufacturer source?

Not any difference at this point. It's like, you won't get any difference between the same cereal you buy at Walmart vs Sam's Club

Since I missed out on previous Knipex 7 1/4" pliers wrench deal, ended up getting HF Icon 10" pliers wrench clone for $32 after recent 20% coupon. Lifetime warranty with in-store exchange.

Thanks. I must admit I am unfamiliar with most of these brands. Does their quality merit their prices?

Both have very good reviews on Amazon. In the case of Bondhus, I would add an extra 5 bucks and get Wera. Eklind for the same price gives double the amount of keys, can't beat it if you need SAE as well.

The most versatile would be an Alligator/Cobra style pipe wrench, but be aware it is very aggressive on lugs and nuts, the splints will have some extensive wear. You really should use them only to bite the smooth pipes, so it is called the pipe wrench. I think for the average homeowner the best choice to work with nuts would be 7" Knipex pliers wrench [woot.com], unfortunately, it is already sold out.

Get the Cobra. The button makes all the difference in the world for adjusting.. I got rid of my alligators because I didn't like the way they worked ( still great pliers, but didn't like the way the adjustment is )
