Here a fine print from asus.com

*ASUS Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) covers electrical surges, drops, and liquid spills. Product must be purchased in brand new condition to qualify for the one year free ADP program, and the product must be registered with ASUS within 60 days of purchase. ASUS Premium Care and Accidental Damage Protection are not compatible with handheld consoles (NV-series), refurbished, open box, international, or products purchased from Best Buy. Scenarios not covered by the ADP terms include (but are not limited to): scratches and dents, incorrect or inadequate customer installation, lost or stolen products, intentional damage, recovery or transfer of stored data to the product, requests for miscellaneous cables or accessories, and damages caused by acts of God or nature. ASUS laptops require registration in order to activate the coverage of one year free ADP. Please note that the one year free ADP is automatically included in Commercial Laptops and does not require registration to receive the coverage. All units purchased from Best Buy are excluded from the ADP coverage described above. Filing a claim depends on prior validation and approval by ASUS. Only one (1) ADP claim may be filed per coverage year commencing on the purchase date of your product. You are responsible to pay shipping cost to ASUS repair center and after the repair is completed ASUS will return the product back to you within the United States or Canada. Exclusions may apply and all claims are subject to verification and confirmation by ASUS.

Also available at Best Buy for the same price.

16GB/Core 5 for $900:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6603654

Keep in mind these come with 3 year warranties and I believe 1 year accidental damage protection and 5 years of bios and driver updates from Asus for whatever thats worth giving the gamers nexus stuff earlier this year.

And this is just another reason why I'm probably steering clear of Asus products. If thats the case they should gave told best buy not to literally be advertising that as a feature wtf.

I hate that I like the specs of this machine on paper (especially the IPS high refresh rate matte monitor) but reviews I've seen echo the build quality issues mentioned here. Saw a review where the screen vibrated due to loose hinge with the tiniest bit of movement or typing and I think that would drive me crazy alone.

Found another person who purchased the P5 and this was their review:
  • Build Quality: This is a big negative for me. The touch pad feels like a loose piece of plastic and it makes a click noise even with the slightest touch which is bothersome. The keyboard feels cheap and some keys make a crackling noise if you try to move them slightly with your finger tips. I also have an issue where the laptop fan makes a click noise every time it starts, which is not a big deal but can get annoying when you hear it every time. Additionally the lid creaks a bit when opening and closing the laptop. When I first got the laptop it didn't lay perfectly flat on the table, so I had to twist it a bit and now it's even.
Typical Anus.
