So it's a UV light with a glue pad. The glue pads are consumable and outrageously expensive if you get the official/OEM. Fortunately there are cheap 3rd party pads on Amazon.

This is a good deal.

EDIT: The company that makes these is scummy as hell and spams social media and uses fake reviews. Here's an example on reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/Ooblets/...for_flies/

I bought three of these the last time there was a deal on them. The one I placed and moved back and forth between the kitchen and living room over the spring and summer didn't seem effective. The light is bright at night and I had hoped to catch the spare fly or two in the house, as well as fruit flies.

I was unimpressed UNTIL I checked the two I put in the basement. I don't know what happened down there but when I went to check them some time later they were FULL of flies. It was disgusting. Like, the the entire card was covered. Not sure if my cat brought something down there that I didn't know or find out about, or if some flies flew down and had a fly orgy but I caught an ungodly amount of them.

I was going to buy refills but this seem like a better deal since I'll just get new units as well. YMMV but I was convinced after seeing what it did in my basement. Maybe it was the total darkness down there coupled with the abundance of flies for whatever reason. Either way, it worked for me.

Depends how many bugs you have. I usually get a month out of a card.

This works great at my house. Got this exact one last year for this price.
A mazon has generic glue pads for this model that is much cheaper than the name brand.
Also makes a great night light in my kitchen, for when I get up in the middle of the night for a
drink of water!

Getting another this time around.

I am in for one. I have the name brand also. Also bought a cheap one from Temu that does the same thing.

I've found it extremely effective for the gnats that come with a new plant. Add in some Bonide granules as a preventative.

I also paid full price for one of these. $5 is slick; just buy third-party glue pads.

Great for small fruit flies and similar. I don't think I've seen them catch larger house flies. I place it next to kitchen trash and next to our sliding glass door. You can get generic replacement sticky cards for a fraction of the branded ones.

I use these around the plants and in the kitchen. Large flies don't seem attracted to them. Gnats, definitely. And small fruit flies.
