I disagree. I used maybe 10 of the similar products and none are better. Not only this one is more accurate but it's about 2-4x faster than average probe.

I put a battery in mine about 3 years ago, and haven't had to replace it yet. I believe mine either made in the USA or UK (I forgot).

For me, when I cook expensive meats (even if it's 2-3 times a year) I really want to get the exact temp, so I can take it out at the right moment as not to overcook, so it's worth investing in something like this. Is it for everyone? Of course not, but there are many things that are very good deals that are not for everyone.

There's really not much better on the market at the price. They're all professionally calibrated, and super easy to use. I've got a bunch of thermoworks and also other off brand stuff, and honestly they're rarely that far off, but not as precise and slower to give a read out.

These are great thermometers if you cook meat and/or bake a lot.

They're nice thermometers and must as others say due to the speed and accuracy, but the build quality is pretty questionable. It's a five year warranty, although I have yet to ask about replacing it due to the screen starting to flake and the backplate being screwed up after replacing a battery -- it's all plastic.
