The news is that Hertz's decision to buy 100,000 Teslas has backfired badly.
The car rental giant began to sell off its stock of Teslas a year ago - due to a lack of demand from customers who prefer gas models. Bosses also said they wanted to offload the cars due to high repair costs.
Scherr said that the company's strategy going forward was to plan a reduction in EV's, and to sell 30,000 of them by the end of the year
Tesla Model 3 are listed for different prices from 17k to 26k.
Hope this helps someone who lives nearby 1 of the dealerships and does not mind a bit used Tesla.

Also, when you think about these rental EVs, you should know that many of these are not traditional rentals where they are renting to the general public who were using them while traveling away from home.
But rather, many of these were used in the Hertz Uber rental program where Uber drivers would rent these from Hertz on a special discounted weekly/monthly basis instead of using their own vehicles. That's why you see so many high mileage Hertz EVs when supposedly the public didn't want them or had bad experiences renting EVs.
As such, many of these high mile Teslas will have seen very high instances of Supercharging (arguments differ on impacts of excessive supercharging) in addition to all the normal abuse of a heavily used Uber car (avoid thinking about all the nastiness that occurs in the backseat of a 2am Uber ride).
That being said, Hertz has had some good EV deals in the past (especially on Bolts and Solterras - which were less likely to be Uber cars), just be aware of what you're getting into before you make the leap.
