This is a dumb take especially for a sub $200 watch. My Bertucci has a hardened mineral glass crystal and still looks like new some 15 years later and has been used and abused for most of those years.

It is not a dumb take. It is a very valid request. It is not a 50$ or 150$. 200$ should get you sapphire, people like you tend to defend these greedy companies.

I know you can replace a glass crystal with sapphire, but I was quoted over $100 a few years back on an old citizen I was thinking about rehabbing. Honestly, it would be so much better if they did it in the first place and just up charged the $20 or less the sapphire would cost at time of manufacturing.

Most don't which is honestly criminal. At this price point it's fine but tbh why have some that are in the 400-500 range and still no sapphire.
