Apologies for the newb question, but just got a Switch for my kids for Xmas:

If I buy this, can everyone on the Switch play it, or only the "account" that bought it?

Each kid has their own account on the Switch, but the free Nintendo Online trial is apparently tied to my account, so they need to login as me to use it. Mildly annoying. Does that apply to digital game purchases as well?

Did you not do a family online trial, just single person? If you have a family online account, I'm pretty sure if the primary account purchased it on the primary switch, any family account member on that switch can use it on that switch as long as you're connected online. If you have another switch, that primary account has to be signed in online and then you're able to play it on the second switch but no one else can be playing the game at the same time on another switch.

It's pretty confusing but at the end of the day, Nintendo has found a way to make sure each switch and switch account has their own copy of the game.
