$1300 for just the body and absolutely no warranty as it comes from 6th Avenue Electronics? Yeah, I would avoid this. With EDU discount on Adorama, I was able to get the the S5II, 20-60mm lens, 50mm lens, 256gb SD card, and additional battery for $1500.

> The Sony α7 IV and the Panasonic LUMIX S5 II are both excellent hybrid cameras, each with their own advantages. The Sony has a much more reliable autofocus system, particularly for taking photos. It also has a better overall battery life and a more established lens ecosystem. On the flip side, the Panasonic has more advanced video features, with 6k recording, vectorscope functionality, and the option to add RAW video output with a paid software upgrade.

I got it a few weeks ago, not sure if ita still on there. Just log in to Adorama with the EDU account and go to the Lumix S5II with 20-60mm lens and SD card and battery bundle and add the 50mm lens to the bundle.

Details for edu ordering are in this thread. I did the same thing, got the camera, 20-60, 50 and 85mm for 1600 through the bundle builder. Not sure if it still works, however

This seller is known for selling grey market cameras. That means no warranty and possibly no repair service from Panasonic USA.

I think I would rather get a mint condition eBay refurbished program camera instead. At least you get a 1 year warranty through Allstate.

not everyone is a student like you. and how the heck did they give these offers to students only? do they really need them for their degree?
Very good question? It doesn't make sense. Why only students?

Also, if you buy the camera new from an authorized seller, you can register it with Panasonic to get their Lumix Pro 3-year warranty free of charge.

That's just good old price discrimination based on ability and willingness to pay.

Also, establishing a brand preference or loyalty in a consumer's formative years can pay major dividends down the road. (Maybe even immediately, if you manage to become trendy in an impulsive young demographic.)

B&H Photo has good camera deals too. I got a nice Panasonic G9 Mark ii body for $1200 on trade credit $650 for my old panny digital body. It was a promo deal I seen on slick deals few months back.
