That's fine if you just want to test it once. It doesn't help if you're trying to actively manage radon in your home.

Agreed - I integrated mine into Home Assistant and it works great. You can set up automations around it as well. Nice to track long term levels, etc.
Interesting. I have several of these around the house. Had not considered they could be integrated into Google Home etc. What kind of automations have you set up?

Some information I found on Radon that can be useful: Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive gas. You can't see radon. And you can't smell it or taste it. But it may be a problem in your home. Radon is estimated to cause many thousands of deaths each year. That's because when you breathe air containing radon, you can get lung cancer. In fact, the Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. Only smoking causes more lung cancer deaths. If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, your risk of lung cancer is especially high. Radon can be found all over the U.S. Radon comes from the natural (radioactive) breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe. Radon can be found all over the U.S. It can get into any type of building—homes, offices, and schools—and result in a high indoor radon level. But you and your family are most likely to get your great- est exposure at home, where you spend most of your time. You should test for radon. Testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk from radon. EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes below the third floor for radon. EPA also recommends testing in schools. Testing is inexpensive and easy—it should only take a few minutes of your time. Millions of Americans have already tested their homes for radon. You can fix a radon problem. Radon reduction systems work and they are not too costly. Some radon reduction systems can reduce radon levels in your home by up to 99%. Even very high levels can be reduced to acceptable levels.Source: https://www.epa.gov/sites/product..._radon.pdf
These Airthings are a great way to see radon levels over time. When I saw my levels spike earlier this year in our baby's room I had a contractor do a radon mitigation system and it was satisfying to see the levels immediately drop.

I have had two of these. It was kind of a pain to connect and keep synced.

Best option if you're willing to be patient is wait until Airthings puts their Airwave / air view Plus on sale on their site for around $150 and you get radon plus numerous other sensors - awesome device and it acts as a hub.

I'm curious as well. I bought the stand alone one that has its own display on it. I'm not so sure I want this which needs a whole new app to see the readings

Another option if you just want to test once in a while: check if your local library has a Library of Things. Ours has an Airthings Corentium that can be borrowed for 2 weeks which is enough to get an idea whether I need to spend any money. Luckily the answer so far has been no.

Two weeks is not enough. I have an ecocube and the swings in radon levels over longer periods of time can be wild. Vast changes come with different weather and pressure levels. Our home looked fine for two weeks after we moved in. This year I am planning to get a system installed.
