Easier to get to, more to do, better food, better service.... Dubai is fun.
Lol saying Dubai is fun is making a joke, they are at best ok for 1-2 days if you like sand dunes.

Who takes their kids to Dubai? Leave them with your parents and enjoy quality couple time.
I did. Of course I was stuck with them traveling for three months and that's where we wrapped up. Aquaventure is like 5 minutes away. Desert Safari is also one of the best kid things. Dubai is super kid friendly.

It was a lot of fun when I used to go there. I did have the advantage of having a local host and expense account.

Service may be provided by what amounts to be indentured servants. May not be a good idea to support an autocratic regime. Pictures look pretty though.

True, Qatar may even be better, but Emirates runs the airport there and it's worth checking out the lounge if you have access.
So you're telling people to take a 10+ hour flight on an airline specifically because their lounge is nice, which you might get to spend an hour in, IF you have access? And you're specifically NOT recommending the airline which, as you stated, might actually be better?

Wow, that's some logic.

Been to Dubai. No plans to ever go back. Everything seemed to be for show not function. The Palms were very interesting but would never want to live there. Dubai is like Las Vegas but without a renewable resource.

Everything in Dubai is ARTIFICIAL!, apart from the desert that is real, the rest is a man-made creation emulating the luxury of the west.

It's crazy that they imported sand from the Maldives....but the UAE is a dessert, full of sand themselves 😬.
They can just import a pound of sand and then claim it since it is technically true. Marketing 101.
