Second this. One key gripe with the 7420 platform is the move to non-upgradeable memory and integral Wi-Fi module (Wi-Fi 6 via the AX201). See details here [notebookcheck.net].

The other complaint I have about this design is the carbon fiber lid, which doesn't seem to resist wear as well as the more traditional lids. Purely a cosmetic problem, but don't be surprised if a model you receive is functional but has more scuffs on the lid than you might expect for Grade A.

Good luck!
Jon
Good laptop, memory is non upgradable so get 16GB or 32GB versions. I purchased 3 similar refurb. Dell laptops over the last year or so and no issues so far.
Dell Latitude 7-series is a bit better.

Two Latitude 5-series laptops that we bought had system board failures in 1 & 10 months after the 90-day warranty expired with FedEx Recycling ("Dell Refurbished")... est. $600 total loss. It was well documented on Reddit and Dell Communities by I.T. managers who purchased hundreds of these units.

Investigate any potential model purchase thoroughly on Reddit, Dell Support Communities, etc. Take the responses from I.T. managers very seriously as they support thousands of Latitudes over many years. Dell Business Leasing ships these in very large quantities to government and business employees for 2-3 year leases.

Bought a non touch 7420 for my son earlier in mid 2024, i7-1185 cpu, 16gh ram. Similar 50% off coupon, but I think it was a bit cheaper. Came with the 100% 400-nit display and high capacity battery. Battery still showed 97% against spec capacity. Very happy with that purchase.

I will miss the Dell Latitude series, this shouldn't affect this deal but FYI for SD'ers

At least Dell Pro will actually be a business oriented product. Nothing "Pro" about most of the "Pro" products out there.

There seems to be no upcharge for Touch on the
Dell Latitude 7420 Touch
This is competitive with the MicroCenter In Store Only just posted at $400, and quality refurbs are planet friendly.
"The Dell Latitude 7420 Touch is a strong contender among these laptops, particularly due to its powerful processor, ample RAM, and excellent battery life. If you prioritize portability (half pound lighter, for the smaller screen/form factor) and professional (Win 10 Pro) features."

So annoying that half of these laptops don't have an OS.

Think of it as cost savings passed on to you😉 You get to pick you own OS and install it bloatware free.
