It's a really synthetic "coconut" tropical scent with a lot of poor reviews. One of the worst in the Lattafa line. It's not really duping anything in particular.

Was anticipated at launch after the success of Asad, but was a huge letdown.

Asad Bourbon is the newest in the Asad line which just came out, which coincidentally doesn't smell like bourbon at all.

Haven't tried Zanzibar, but like you've mentioned: I've only heard bad things about it.

Regarding Bourbon - I don't know why this is such a common thing with the name.. For some reason, there are a number of fragrances with "Bourbon" or "Leather" in the title that have a Tobacco scent. I'm a fan of all 3 notes, but it doesn't make sense to call something "Bourbon" and not make it smell as such.

Black Saffron and Oud Saphir are other examples of fragrances that are a heavy leather note (Tuscan Leather) but use Saffron or Oud in the titles

Picked this up today for the hubby to add to the clone pile and….. I don't know how I feel. Smells like a Dr Pepper? Pepsi? Both? Dry down hasn't changed much, and I'm no scent connoisseur. Also the box was open and it isn't clear this was or wasn't unused. It wasn't shrink wrapped but I don't know it was supposed to be? Anyhow. I'm happy keeping it in his pile for the very rare occasion, but it won't be often. I simply won't allow it. Haha!
