Does anybody know if the cord is gold plated so I can be sure my light bulb is getting the highest quality electricity?

Gold isn't the best conductor. Silver is best followed by Copper followed by Gold. As I'm sure Monster has always been aware gold is all marketing it's actually just one of the cheapest ways to stop better conducting options from tarnishing at connection points. It's generally not used in higher end or larger connectors due to it's malleability.
