Reposting my comment from when this was on sale for slightly more 1/7:

This is one of the coolest toy lightsabers to come out recently. The blade and kyber crystal change between 5 different colors, each with different sound effects and when it turns red the crystal has a special effect where it is bled (basically corrupted) and turns red. The hilt is modular and can be attached to other lightsaber parts sold recently. I got it for $25 after Christmas, and felt it was well worth that price. My daughter loves it.

It would probably be the best toy lightsaber released last year, except the Goliath Power Saber came out which is a generic lightsaber that has a blade that fully extends and retracts with a button push. It's more expensive at $60 MSRP, 35-40 on sale.

You know you're old when you initially glance at the thumbnail picture and assume this is a fishing pole with a crab bait attachment.

Lightsaber would have been my next guess.

bought 3 from walmart sale. Kids like'em. Nice to be able to pick different colors. Just know when you get them you have to switch the mode so it doesn't cycle through the colors but stays on the one selected.

Got them for the kids. Then I had second thoughts, and went back and got another for myself. Why should they have all the fun?

I got this last week from Amazon when it first appeared here. Decided to return it as it wouldn't really work as a cosplay gadget (the saber doesn't glow too strong, just a bit close to the handle), doesn't stay on for longer so you need to keep pressing buttons to keep it flashing and making sounds. For the price I guess it is okay, especially if it's for kids, but for adults not as much

Yeah, for cosplay you would want a Force FX elite or a Galaxy's Edge Legacy hilt and blade. Both options are officially licensed, beautifully machined and have detachable blades with good effects and progressive ignition. They cost $100+ for force fx elite and easily over $150 for Galaxy's Edge sabers, depending on the character. You can even make your own out of parts at a ceremony at Disney World/ Disneyland but it'll cost over $200.

There is a whole world of unofficial replica lightsabers/ duelling lightsabers that go from cheap generic hilts to $500+ with amazing effects, lights and sounds.

Best of luck finding something that works for you!

I bought this when it was $16.xx a week or so ago. Then the price dropped to $14.xx and I chatted with Walmart customer support for 30ish min and got them to do a partial refund… now it's $13 and I don't think I'll bother trying to get the credit…
