Their lumber is the worst. it takes 5 minutes to find 1 good board
The deal comes with a time machine
I bought 52, 92-5/8 2x4s a couple weeks ago at Menards. Most of the boards were actually pretty good. Maybe 10% were warped to the point that they weren't usable. It was a recent opened bundle though. As you get to the bottom, more culled boards collect on top so it looks like they are all shit.

This is a better deal than what I originally thought ... the end price is $2 per board, after the rebate. Its only good through Sunday 1/12.

Depends. They never get rid of the "leftovers" to see if people will grab them. I just get through that and if you are lucky they might have better stuff under there. Good deal if you go to Menards often for $2. Just be nice to the staff and put the boards you don't get back nice.

I shop at Menards a lot. It is hit or miss. I usually walk out in the yard and look at them before driving back there and getting my boards. If they look like crap i'll try another store or just wait a few days. I've had good luck finding nice boards and have seen boards i wouldn't burn in my woodstove.

30% of the softwood lumber used in the US comes from Canada.

Stock up now, since on or after January 20th there might be 25% on lumber from Canada.

I watched a team of 4 Russians build a cheap but efficient house in 10 days. These guys were phenomenol! They were accurate with cutting STACKS of 10 foot boards (maybe longer?) with a chainsaw. They worked in perfect harmony too.
Anyway, their lumber was pristine!! Indisnt see any knots or warped boards, they werent checking for crowns. I was mezmorized by their work performance but very envious of their lumber.

Most of menards 2x4s double as snow skis.

They do however have their 15% off bag sale going on, i think thru tomorrow.
