these are 5 year old headphones which recently have been discontinued because the Powerbeats Pro 2 are coming out this year which will have more features such as ANC. I'd pass on these as you can get much better specced headphones for this price

Yes these are old and gen 2 will be out this year, but we don't know when and they'll likely cost at least $249. Will have to decide if the wait, price, ANC, USB-C, likely better battery life is worth it to you?

Have these and mostly love them (had some right-bud charging problems and miss ANC/USB-C), will likely use them until a discount on gen 2.

Any info on how much the new Powerbeats Pro 2 will cost? Dang, I thought these had ANC.

What is better at $100? Would like some options if you are willing to share your knowledge.

I have these and like them but almost never use them any more since I got Bose QuietComfort II earbuds which stay put very well even without the over the ear design.

Got examples of similar (not headphones) better specced options?

I've been contemplating the Beats Fit pro but they're not over the ear. They came out in 2022 so I'm not sure if they will update them this year. They go for 130 to 150 on sale. Refurbs can be as low as 100 but I have some earphones for now to get me by so I'm not in a hurry.

These still sound good (for bluetooth) even though they are 5 years old. If you wear them while walking or running, don't want around the head style, and buds don't stay in your ear, these are a good option. The upgraded ones will be 200+ too with the ANC.

My wife's have a charging thing where one doesn't always charge, but that could be user error too as I've never had the problem with mine.

I've had the same charging issue, and it's not user error. I thought that at first too, but one of them doesn't always charge. I have to check the battery widget to make sure they're charging.

Soundcore x20 are the best earbuds with a hook on the market.

Ive owned these in the past and they're fantastic for what they offer.

Having stated that,

Like others have mentioned that these are due for a newer design and USB-C charging (maybe wireless?)

BUT keep in mind, All of the newer beats products released in the past 2-3 years have different chips in them. They don't offer all the Apple H1 / H2 features like the older beats headphones offered. They are designed more like regular bluetooth headphones rather than Apple airpods so newer Beats work better Cross-platform (android, windows etc.)

These powerbeats pro have the older H1 chip but it is still supported and offers all the apple H1 features within the apple ecosystem.

As for the charging/charging case issue, its mainly due to user error in my experience.

You have to MAKE SURE when you place them in the case the metal prongs make a secure connection and might need to be cleaned once in a while. Don't rely on the magnets to hold them securely all the time. Sometimes its the way the users have bent/adjusted the earhooks that make them not connect securely.

My 2 cents.
