Buffalo rounds at Kitco are at $33.94 (for 20+ rounds) right now. (Not sure if they charge shipping - shipping was free at Costco).
To avoid paying tax in CA - order more than $2000 worth (i.e, 4 packs).
UPDATE: Now (about 11.46am Eastern) spot price is $30.44 - so this is below spot. I hope it ships.
BTW - spreads on these are crazy (about $3 to $4 if you try to sell back to Kitco etc.) If you ever need to sell - best to sell private where they are happy even with $1 over spot (Selling to Kitco is $1 BELOW spot and buying seems to be $3+ over spot).

You can put your money in tips bonds and be earning inflation guaranteed interest....
If you're worried about a complete and utter financial collapse you're going to have more things to concern you than your silver and gold amount.
now I fully admit if you want this stuff this is probably about as good a deal as you're going to get..
Others look at diversity in their investments and consider precious metals just another hedge against inflation. I mean, I was considering gold at $1800/oz and didn't pull the trigger and look at its value today. Even with fees if I sold I'd have made a nice profit.

Stocks have gone up even more in that same time. You could have just bought an index fund.
Like I said in my original post I really don't think in a collapse scenario heavy metals are going to do you much good unless maybe 100 years after that when society rebuilds. A true collapse scenario the first few decades are just going to be chaos.
I can see it being cool to own some heavy metals. who wouldn't want to have a chest full of gold or silver?
but I wouldn't do so unless you already had significant investments that earn yearly income... as well as all the other prepper supplies you actually will use that are laid in

Having said that I believe a tips right now is paying 2.3% real return after inflation accounting. Granted if you believe the inflation rate is fake, which I do, it's not paying what it should. Regardless there are marketable security should be able to sell them at any time unlike the I bond
