Same price at sam's club and Costco though you get $10 in-product credit instead. Can be used towards e-file fee.
Amazon matched Costco deal for $64.99 for turbotax premium 2024 with $10 GC

No! That's the issue I ran into a few years ago. Luckily Costco online accepted my return right away. For whatever reason Intuit doesn't allow the mixed compatibility of online previous filing to be migrated to the downloaded registry key filings.

Makes no sense. the TT software is downloaded from the same place.

Also, the import page on TT asks if I want to retrieve from online.

Something isn't adding up here. might be a you issue.

Glad this deal FINALLY came in! I almost just bought it for $55 without the Amazon GC yesterday, since I figured we weren't going to get this deal anymore. Glad i waited
Huh? It was basically this price ($1 more) on November 30th. We had this deal nearly 2 months ago. Nothing was missed. Spent the $10 GC in December.

For those that need the Business PC-only version: Costco has it for the same price with $10 in-product bonus credit. Amazon does not include the $10 Amazon gift card this year. I was waiting to see if Amazon would price match before pulling the trigger. Would have much preferred an Amazon gift card, but this makes it easy to go with Costco. Thank you for posting this OP!

No it does not. We own a cheap PC just to use TurboTax business each year. The H&R Block business version is not adequate for our particular needs unfortunately…

DO NOT GIVE TURBOTAX YOUR MONEY. TurboTax/Intuit is terrible because they actively lobby to keep taxes complicated, blocking the government from offering free, simple filing options. They profit off the confusion they help create. On top of that, their "free filing" ads are misleading, and most people end up paying hidden fees. H&R Block does the same.
Better options:
• Under $73k/year: IRS Free File
• Simple taxes: Cash App Taxes
• Complex taxes: FreeTaxUSA or TaxSlayer
• High-income: Hire a CPA

I just tried the link to buy the Premier version with $10 gift card but Amazon says that link is broken. I tried again and it found the product but when I try to checkout it gives an error and won't let me buy it (it changed the quantity to 0).
I had my wife order it on her account and it worked. I suspect the reason why my account didn't work is because I have a $0 Amazon gift card on my account and 've heard on this forum that purchasing the version of TurboTax that includes a gift card with an existing gift isn't allowed. BUT...I couldn't find any way to remove that old $0 gift card from my account. I don't know how to fix this but at least I finally got my download, thanks to an alternative Amazon account.

You can just enter your gain/losses in aggregate. Takes a couple of minutes at most. I have accounts at MS and Fidelity. Auto import is nice, but it's it a $45 feature? Not for me.
How do you account for wash sales when you aggregate the total?

Cool story bro 🤣

Fwiw, some of us have to enter tons of stock trades and if there's no auto import, I will die. Lol

Anyway, since Amazon is clearly a price follower, makes me wonder who they were copying all those years we got this deal right after Christmas, since this year, they're just trying to match the Costco deal.
Many of us knew for weeks that Costco/Sam's/Amazon would start these deals today. In fact Sam's Club advertised it in their monthly Instant Savings catalog which was posted back in late December but the TT deal specifically showed in the catalog that it wouldn't start until the 18th. It's a manufacturer discount so everyone starts it the same day. The warehouse clubs get the $10 add-on credit and Amazon does the gift card.

Buy the 36.99 with 10 credit. Then activate it and upgrade ex) to home business for $40 includes the credit, stack with chase or Citi offer for 20 off.
It's like buying for 56.99 for home business with state.

This likely works with a premier upgrade so long it's $39. Buy the Amazon $10gc 36.99.

Disagree. Amazon deal for TT Deluxe is Fed PLUS STATE with $10 Amazon gift card as separate item. Costco net price for Deluxe is Fed only (so $10 'credit' goes towards State filing), and $2 more than Amazon deal w/gift card (Net $34.99 Fed/State vs Costco's $36.99 Fed only).
44.99 "Includes 5 Federal E-Files and 1 State via Download. State E-File Sold Separately" what are you talking about?

Edit: Costco is same TT as Amazon, difference is 10# amazon card vs 10 in credit on TT site.
For NY peeps Amazon is better because NY efile is mandatory and is FREE so better to get Amz 10$ instead

Every hear I hate paying the Intuit tax just because they can't bundle single member scorps into their other products. Costco it is for now.

In past years the state e-file has been $25 so you could use the $5 back offer. Are you sure it's $20?
I believe the deluxe includes a $5 discount for state e-file to $20, or at least it used to.

What's funny is, I checked the Intuit website [intuit.com] this morning and under TurboTax Deluxe it clearly indicated a state e-file discount of $5. Now all descriptions seemed to be removed from that section and only the TurboTax Deluxe + TurboTax Advantage shows a list of benefits, one of which is the state e-file discount.

This obviously only matters for anyone who doesn't have the "$25 spend for $5 back" offer with Chase, or something like that.

For those of us who do have that offer, it's basically a wash. Whether the discount comes from the Deluxe software or from the Chase cashback, we're still paying $20.
