First off, you don't get to decide for other people how they should spend their time or their money. Not do you get to decide what the value of their time is. Sorry, that is just rudely judgmental and antisocial.
I don't own a car, because I live in a city that's already overcrowded with cars. Not owning a car contributes to the greater good for the city, both in terms of less traffic and less pollution, as well as public safety.
Also, in a "big city", a 5-10 minute drive would be a 30-60 minute walk. Possibly longer by public transportation. Maybe you don't think that much time is worth a few bucks in fees and/or tips, but most Americans surely do. If there's one good thing that came from covid, it's in giving most of us a greater understanding of how valuable and important the things that we enjoy are for making it through life.
As for Uber Eats, I get it maybe once or twice a week at most. I take an Uber maybe once or twice a month at most. If you know of any car (not to mention the huge parking costs) I can buy with those fees - especially at 20-25% off , please let us know. THAT would be a slick deal!
But uber eats did give me better promos though. Two delivery orders $25 off each. Some punchcard of $20 uber cash for making 4 purchases. 50% off an uber ride.
Best deal I got on door dash is 10% off zillions gift cards that I redeemed for amazon gcs +10% back from paypal.
DoorDash never sends me coupons, whereas with uber they would send one on either ubereats or Postmates.
I currently have a 70% off on Postmates up to $50 off and 40% off on Ubereats
Sweet, can confirm it works
Really wish Costco was more transparent about limits.
That's not true at all. You are assuming the driver drives to yours and exactly back to where they started. And that they aren't taking multiple deliverers at a time. As an uber driver that almost never happens. Usually i am taking 2-3 orders one way. Going to closest spot in that area and taking 2-3 orders back the other way. So I can do 4-6 deliveries in one round trip instead of 1
