Beware...these Dells are refurbished directly by "Fedex".

And some of them are great! Others are beat up. Overall, they tend to leave a lot to be desired.

I have 2 Dell Latitudes, purchased separately as Grade A units, that failed 1 month after warranty and 10 months after the 90-day FedEx Recyling warranty expired. Complete system board failures. Lost about $600 and no part is salvageable or resaleable, given that they're old parts, often 3rd party (not original Dell), and low performance SSD/memory. Reddit and Dell Communities report similar experiences by I.T. manager who bought them in large quantities from Dell.
Research your model extensively before considering a purchase from FedEx Recycling. Some get new-like units, others get severely used "Grade A" units. These were not personally owned but employee loaners. They could have had multiple owners as many had been returned to Dell under the original warranty for system board replacements.
You'll notice many of them on eBay being sold for "parts only" with noted system board issues, etc.

Labels said they were from FedEx Recycling. Address location was FedEx Recycling, not a Dell building. Phone lines are not Dell. Hit zero, go through voice mailboxes, it's not Dell. Buy from Dell Outlet if you want used Dell.

Here's a photo some of our parts pile from 2 Dell Latitudes purchased from Dell Refurbished (FedEx Recycling) that failed after 1 month and 10 months post-warranty. I tried every option possible to bring either one of them back to life.

There will be a very distinct blue label on the bottom of the unit. Unfortunately the sticker will also leave a pretty tough residue.

Good luck!

The devices will be drop-shipped directly from a Dell lessor. FedEx is one of the most common suppliers, though other threads have included various local governments, school districts, etc.

Good luck!

There's no way to tell prepurchase? I got the feeling from the So-Many-Deals that a person could know prior to purchase somehow, but perhaps I misunderstood.

Dell Refurbished, essentially, is Fedex Recycling. all of the products i've ever purchased have been "from" Fedex Recycling and have the labels.

Meh. I've bought >20 refurb Dells, yes they are from Fedex, 90% are as expected, I think I had one or two that had issues, returns were smooth. I've never had one get deployed and fail. YMMV.

Bought the last similar deal, a 7240 for $620, then updated to Win11 and it runs great. Very thin

I went high specs since ya can't upgrade the cpu and ram

1 year warranty was only $49 more

Bought Dell refurbished before; never had a problem
