I really enjoyed his book 21 lessons for the 21st century even more than Sapiens, this one not so much and never finished it.

I've just started but it's been example after example of anecdotes that go on and on before he gets to the point

I didn't learn as much about AI from this book as I thought I would, but I did learn a lot about how information systems have worked through history and what it could look like if AI replaces those things, as well as how AI augments surveillance states. The anecdotes from Iran and China were chilling. However, there's also a story about a first time offender in New Jersey who was sentenced to 10 years based on an AI recommendation that no one can explain because it's "proprietary information." Useful book.

Harari has an incredible mind. His ability to zoom out and analyze long term trends is unmatched

I enjoyed his previous books (sapiens, 21, etc..) but this one I gave up after two chapters, when I realized I wasn't getting anything out of it. It felt more like a rant.
