Various Retailers have Meditations by Marcus Aurelius: A New Translation (eBook) for $1.99.

Thanks to Deal Hunter phoinix for posting this deal.

Available from:Details:
  • A series of spiritual exercises filled with wisdom, practical guidance, and profound understanding of human behavior, Marcus Aurelius's Meditations remains one of the greatest works of spiritual and ethical reflection ever written. With bite-size insights and advice on everything from living in the world to coping with adversity and interacting with others, Meditations has become required reading not only for statesmen and philosophers alike, but also for generations of readers who responded to the straightforward intimacy of his style.
  • In Gregory Hays's translation—the first in nearly four decades—Marcus's thoughts speak with a new immediacy. In fresh and unencumbered English, Hays vividly conveys the spareness and compression of the original Greek text. Never before have Marcus's insights been so directly and powerfully presented.
  • With an Introduction that outlines Marcus's life and career, the essentials of Stoic doctrine, the style and construction of the Meditations, and the work's ongoing influence, this edition makes it possible to fully rediscover the thoughts of one of the most enlightened and intelligent leaders of any era.

It is publicly available, but this translation in particular is not. The Hays translation is one of the more accessible and relevant versions. I've bought the physical version, and with this price, also picked it up as an ebook, as it's very re-readable.
One of my favorite books, and one that I'll undoubtedly want to come back to again over the next 4 years. Thanks!

Given the age of the writing, this is surely available for free in the public domain?
How would you like to learn Greek.

I'll sum it up for you.

The Serenity Prayer 365 times.
If stoicism needed to be boiled down to its essence, that would fit perfectly, though it misses the nuance that makes this book worth owning.

I've bought copies for all of my children, as it's well worth reading; something far too many "stoics" don't actually do.

This meditation was referenced in the Gladiator 2 movie by Denzel
One of Denzel's most cringe performances. That movie did not need to be made, 1 was perfect.

"Occult Spiritualism" - Amazon category.
And Amazon will list AC/DC as the power source for a pocket knife. (not an electrical fillet knife) More entertaining things can be found under the "recommended use" field sometimes.
