I believe this is for accessibility for those who have disabilities. But might be still fun and functional programming the buttons for certain games.
They did another one before that for e3 or something and I realized that I had never thought about making a controller to assist with someone's disability before and went down a fantastic rabbit hole. The xbox system was featured at the time and it was extensive, customizable and could be made to be incredibly large or small or spread out. Man I would absolutely love to be a part of that design team.

I have these "huge buttons" as they also come with 8bitdo's keyboard and I have my powertoys "global mute" button bound to the giant B button. You have no idea how satisfying it is to emergency mute with a fist pound. Yeah they're on the mushy side but they're kinda fun. Shoutout to 8bitdo for honestly being a 3rd party controller company that doesn't suck! I've been using their controllers since around 2015 and they all still work!
I do sincerely appreciate xboxs efforts to support disabled gamers. That commercial with their first accessible controller and the kid... Gets me every time.

Microsoft created this controller for people with disabilities and you can add other controllers to it. There's more parts to his so you can customize to whatever disability you have. There's a lot more piece to this.

No I meant the big ass buttons and controller is created by microsoft. It's for disaabled people, it looks like 8 bit do is just pairing it with their controlleer.

I'm trying to understand why someone would use this. Maybe accessibility? However if it's handheld, this does not seem very accessible. Is this something that you would put on a table top or in your lap or something?
I mean in the ago of mobile gaming, this looks like it is phone size (a very relative term given how many different sizes there are) and maybe some people find that more comfortable than your typical controller. Just a thought, nothing to base it on beyond speculation.

Totally agree! Around that same time I'd learned their booths/demo areas for events did things the others weren't like offering wider lanes for lines and ramps. Something I'd never thought of previously but after learning thought that was really cool and appreciated their efforts in trying to make gaming available to everyone.
