I have. Gameplay is great. Puzzles are great. Couch co-op is great. Story and characters are terrible. Bad parents make repeated awful decisions and are assholes to each other for 2/3 of the game.

It's great but also a test in patience if your significant other isn't so... gamer inclined. Half the time we're playing I'm waiting for her to time a decent double jump. 😭❤️🤝

This is my absolute favorite couch co-op game and well worth its normal price. My non-gamer significant other and I played through the entire story. Many different environments, mechanics, and mini games. Highly recommended.

Wife and I were going to play this we each have our own gaming pc and controllers. (I actually have 3 monitors on my pc. I also have a steam link for the TV. With all my options what is best? I should mention we only own 1 copy (my pc)

Echoing all of the above. The level concepts and designs are compelling. Perks change on a given level, which keeps it interesting. The premise is sound, but it felt a little weird playing with my 12 year old son. It's in this odd gameplay space of looking like a kids game with a narrative of adult issues. It delves into parenting and losing oneself and a loving partnership in the fog of adulthood. The daughter's part in the storyline is indeed pretty dark.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. Hopefully someone in this thread does. Wife and I played this on PS5 on the sofa.

I agree they're not well written and the characters aren't likable per se, but I really like them. The book guy is crazy. The nonsense of it all was entertaining to me.

You can play it with only one copy, have her download the "It Takes Two Friend's Pass" it's free and lets you host the game and she can join your session.
Though my wife and I played it on our TV through GeForce Now, and the game does a great job switching from split screen to one screen for effect which we really enjoyed. Plus getting to sit next to each other on the couch while playing adds to the experience too!
If you have a big TV, Steam Link to your TV will give you the best couch co-op experience

I agree with all of this. The game is fun, I played with my 11-year-old son and I started skipping the story, its a little too heavy for a lighthearted gaming session with the kids. Overall, the game looks great, the puzzles are fun, it really is a great coop game.

Agreed with pretty much everything here. I think the character development was really good though because it was more "realistic" with their attitudes coping with their situation.

Phenomenal game. My wife and I just finished it. 10/10

The writing and story was honestly bad enough for my wife and I to drop it entirely. Kind of a shame since it's a shockingly polished co-op experience. The gameplay is solid as you've said, and some of the environments are genuinely quite cool.

Sadly, the second anyone opened their mouth in this game, we lost interest immediately. It's both the moment-to-moment dialogue (hate that stupid book) and the broader story they were trying to tell (at least, what we saw). Nothing was landing for us, at all.
