Same price at Walmart (sold by Newegg)
Deluxe: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Quicke...om=/search
Premier: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Quicke...om=/search
Business & Personal: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Quicke...om=/search

Okay, they're actually $0.06 more, but close enough.

I downgraded from Business to Deluxe and had no regrets as it does everything I need to keep track of a business. The few features that they added I never used anyway.

I bought the Deluxe on Sunday at this same price from newegg. I have used Premier for 20+ years but their prices have gone so high and lack of deals this year has me testing Deluxe for a year. The only feature I semi-used that won't be there is the Schedule D / cost basis tracking which I won't really miss. I have always used my brokerage calculations anyway so we'll see how it goes.

I got the Classic subscription on the Amazon deal over the weekend. I spent 2 hours in a chat with support trying to get my bank (M&T) set up on my account. The agent escalated the issue, etc. you know the drill. Finally, they said there was nothing they could do, and I should go to my bank to sort it out. Can you imagine?

Anyway, as I just bought the subscription and had only one bank account and could not set it up, I asked for a refund. I was directed to a form to complete and send in with proof of purchase, etc. Now I am waiting for a paper check they say will take 1-2 months. I'm not very impressed with Quicken based on my first experience with them.

M&T bank's site says they support Quicken's Direct Connect feature (online banking) at a cost of $10/month. Shop around for other banks that do not charge for using Direct Connect. I'm using PNC bank, and it works fine and free.

I appreciate the info. It's strange that in the two-hour chat with support that was even escalated they could not provide me with this. At any rate, I am a retired senior (76) with one bank account at M&T which my wife and I have had for years. I'm really not looking to change banks or open an account at a different bank. I'm glad I sent in the cancel and request a refund but thank you for your response.

Personally I'd change banks due to their greed in making money on something that most all financial institutions offer as a courtesy and free to customers. It is not like they do not make money from you. I have had probably 100 accounts in Quicken over the years and some were not supported as the institutions did not offer servers that did it but never had one to try to charge for it. It is bit slimy

Whenever I have had problems accessing an account either thru quicken or directly to the bank's website it always seems to be a weekend. Try again during the week which has always worked for me. I assume the bank is doing maintenance on their system.

I don't have any experience with M&T but I would give it another try.

For most companies you're dealing with off shore support people with no connection with the company. They're trained with the basics to just answer phones or chat and to get rid of you asap. So it doesn't surprise me in the least that they didn't know the details you speak of. I'm in my 60's and old enough to remember the days when you could pick up the phone for support and talk to someone who actually worked for the company and was knowledgeable.

I bought the subscription Sunday and gave up after trying all of the various options under M&T Bank for the reason you mentioned. However, I tried at least another 12 times on Monday before I contacted Quicken support via chat. During the nearly two hours chat I tried each option again several times. To their credit they tried a lot of things and spent the time with me, but their suggestion to go to the bank and have them fix the problem was what put me off keeping the subscription.

If I was younger and had not been with this bank (without any issues) for many years who is about one mile from my house, I might consider it. At this point as much as I would like to try out Quicken I don't think it will work for me. I didn't even know about the additional charge from the bank (that came from someone here, not from Quicken support). M&T Bank is not as big as banks like Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, etc., but they are fairly large here in the Northeast with about 1,000 branches. I thought there might be someone reading my post who went through setting up Quicken using M&T Bank. Thank you for your response.

M&T charges for Direct Connect.

Are you able to do option 2 at the link below? I do that with a different bank—just download the Quicken QFX file and import it into Quicken. It's basically the same process, just with the extra step of downloading the file first before importing it, but it gets all my transactions without having to enter them manually.
