I just got an order delivered today that has dropped in price. I asked for an adjustment and they told me to kick rocks. Buy again and return they said. The box isn't even open. I'm done. Their eco-friendly front is nonsense.
The cognitive dissonance between people who want companies who make well-made clothes ethically with integrity who also want those clothes at fast fashion prices and want to haggle for price protection is astounding.
Rather stupid that they wont pricematch their own prices a week after I ordered stuff.

Perhaps you have never had anything of real taste or quality to keep for many years? Yeah I wouldn't plan on keeping your H&M clothing for multiple years either. They're purposely disposable lol.
I actually own Frozen Range Parka, and I can justify the price because it makes at least some sense, 700-fill down, serious warmth, and real tech behind it. That's value. But paying $138 for a basic polyester jacket with nothing special about it? That's a joke. I own a Banana Republic wool sherpa jacket that cost me 2 times less, and there's no comparison, this polyester piece of junk doesn't even come close.
Funny how you assume criticism means lack of experience. I have no problem paying for quality, I do it when it makes sense. I like Patagonia in general, but blindly overpaying for whatever they put out is just foolish. Maybe address actual criticism instead of dogpiling like a clueless fanboy. But hey, if overpaying for mediocre gear makes you feel superior, go off.

Has anyone used the lifetime warranty? How was your experience?
I have used it a couple of times. The first time I was just commenting on FB review sight about jackets and about how the down is gone on my down sweater. A few days later Patagonia messaged me about it and told me to send jacket in and gave me a mailing label. I thought it was a scam and I checked the address and stuff and all matched. A few days later, they sent me a store credit for full price. Second time, I dried one of their nano air fleece and it shrunk and they told me it's not suppose to shrink and told me to go grab one off the shelf. I love arcteryx but Patagonia warranty is the best.

I was able to pricematch with just my digital receipt in store. No issues - didn't even bring the jacket with me, just the confirmation email.
Guy at the register seemed to think you can just call in for the pricematch. YMMV

A 'lifetime' warranty loses its appeal when the upfront cost is absurd for some items. Charging $137 for a 100% polyester jacket (Classic Retro-X® Fleece jacket) on a so called 50% sales is hard to justify. Who really needs a lifetime warranty on a 100% polyester thing? Is it supposed to stay in style for 15 years? How long is someone realistically wearing it before moving on? Feels like an overpriced gimmick more than real value.
🤡🤡🤡🤡 that's an awful take

First of all, go back and read your own comment that I quoted. It is you who is not addressing the question but you are changing the question. You initially brought up the lifetime warranty and why would anyone need a lifetime warranty. Would anyone keep a jacket for that long? The answer is a resounding yes. Why would you not keep a jacket that long if it is still in good condition? Now you are changing the topic bringing up other brands and comparing a parka to a basic jacket. BTW Patagonia has a 700 fill parka, serious warmth, for $250. That's really good for a lifetime warranty jacket that looks good.
If you actually think your banana republic wool sherpa is going to last longer than a comparable Patagonia jacket, especially if you do any physical activity with it, you are so confused, it is not even worth arguing with you. I have banana Republic jackets including a wool jacket. It's a fashion brand but it's trash quality and definitely doesn't keep you very warm.
Edit: I just realized that Frozen range parka is Patagonia. Now I am really confused. What the heck are you trying to say? If you own Patagonia and know how good the quality is, what are you trying to say? Are you not planning to keep that parka for 15 + years? Would you rather it not have a lifetime warranty? You are all over the place.

If you see from the other prospect,,,they don't want everyone to game the system to just buy everything the day before the sale or the first day then holding until the deepest discount to price adjust, so that they won't miss out due to OOS for size...If everyone doing this,,, no one is going to enjoy the sale as bot might just bought everything at first day..
so that they won't miss out due to OOS for size

You're completely missing the point. Try actually reading what I am saying. The items are still in stock and they are encouraging me to re-buy. There is no "gaming the system" if you at least require the item to be in stock. There is absolutely no rationalization for this. This is more money and effort spent for both of us, and emissions created, for absolutely no gain.

Unfortunately, Gucci chose to collab with North Face not Patagonia.

Over the years I've amassed a good amount of Patagonia gear. Some purchased at discount and a lot gifted to me. Almost every piece I own has accompanied me on backcountry skiing trips, multi day bluewater sailing races or many other activities. Last week I had worn a Better Sweater to the symphony on the previous Friday and then four days in a row resort skiing. It was the only fleece I needed to bring on that trip. That Better Sweater was a gift and I had assumed when I got it it was "tech fashion" but it's gotten a lot of heavy use. I bought another one at some point on sale and it still has the tags in it because this one is holding up well.

Relative to other tech gear I own Patagonia is relatively inexpensive, there are many times I need something a little better or more specialized so their list pricing doesn't seem out of line for the quality and functionality. I have some Arc'teryx stuff and the quality doesn't seem much better for 2x the price.

I don't necessarily seek out Patagonia gear, just their pieces I have fit a need and have outlasted other gear and tend to get a heavy rotation because they fit a need well.

I am all about deals and have tried a gamut of various brands. There are some super budget pieces I am very proud of like the famous Wrangler ATG pants but most of the inexpensive outdoors brands Ive bought have failed prematurely. I've had Columbia pants and shirts lose their stitching after a few washes and Eddie Bauer fleeces last less than a season. Ive spent more money chasing bargains and deals than just buying the right piece initially. I subscribe to the buy once, cry once philosophy when it comes to tech gear that serves a need.

I did have one duffel tear after a few years of heavy use and sent it in a for $15 to cover shipping or so they sewed in a whole new panel. To be fair, it's probably a lighter duty bag than what I use it for and it should probably be replaced with a Black Hole or equivalent from another manufacturer.

There's been a trend in traditionally good tech gear brands getting purchased by investment firms who market to the tech fashion crowd and tank the quality while diluting their brand reputation to maximize short term profit. Some companies like North Face have separate lines for urban fashion and technical gear. I haven't seen Patagonia do this yet so it's a relatively safe buy, if I buy something I know it will hold up to some heavy use.

I was considering the R2 TechFace yesterday but it sold out in my size. Just checked again this morning and they added a few more. Instantly ordered

I brought in my wife's jacket where some of the stitching had worn out with a hope that they could help repair it (it was an older jacket that was in great shape otherwise). They let us know that it wasn't repairable by them so they offered to give us a replacement jacket or a gift card for the price of a modern replacement.
