I got this after the battery in my Wyze crapped out. It is better. Better navigation. Has a sensor so it follows walls instead of constantly nudging them as it goes. Cleans rooms about 10% faster than the Wyze. Bigger dust bin. Much bigger battery. The suction motor is quieter on the lower settings. The brushroll does make some chattering noise on hard floors, but I imagine all silicone brushroll vacs probably do that. And unlike the Wyze, the brushroll runs all the time on rugs/carpet instead of stopping and starting constantly. I haven't used the mop.
I got it for $133 with coupon code RRSAP2025013021025822AZR on the Roborock website
Upgraded from the s6, it runs quieter and fills the bin way more with corgi hair

Can anyone confirm that this does not have self emptying? I was about to pull the trigger, but really want that feature...

No. If you want the emptying dock you needs the Q5 Pro Plus model which is over 2x the price (not worth it compared to other vacuums at that price range).

The Pro has a very large bin, 770ml. Enough for most folks.

All robots do unless you make your space robot friendly. Meaning tie up and tape down loose cables, make sure furniture is appropriate height, avoid dark colored carpeting so doesnt trigger ledge detection halt, etc.

No robot shoved into most peoples homes will not have issues without making changes for the robot to work optimally.

In for one. My 3rd-4th (?) Neato just went tits up. A D8 Connected. I have also had Roombas. My experience is that regardless the brand they last about 18-24 months with daily use. I like the lidar type that works in an organized manner.
Curious to hear how this compares to the nets. I have a D3 that is going like a champ and runs every night to deal with our Corey's hair. I empty it every morning before I head off to work (the bin is usually full of hair, not packed unless we miss a couple days).

Hard to find the actual specs on dustbin size of the nets but I think it's a decent sized bin on the D series.

I almost picked up this in the plus version (self emptying) over Xmas but could do it because the neat still works and I'm not sold on the smaller brush that doesn't go edge to edge like the neat...

How do you feel it deals with corgi hair along the edges of rooms on tile and carpet?
I could spend every day shedding our little fur factory and it still fills out Neat D3's bin daily. I do appreciate the wider brush on the neat as it gets pretty close to the walls and has good suction on our carpets.

$133 - and add tax... Makes this about a 7 dollar savings vs Amazon for me. Tempting to cancel my second order- but then I saw FedEx as their shipper. Nope. I'll pay an extra $7 for Amazon delivery people and processes. FedEx is terrible for me.
I feel you there, FedEx just lost my 3 thousand dollar work laptop. Not only that, they lied and made "attempted deliveries" but we were home waiting for 3 days straight for them to show. The attempted delivery pictures were of the inside of a FedEx truck. Still working through the claims process on the insurance, but will avoid FedEx at all costs now.

I got our Q5Pro yesterday, ran it through a freshly vacuumed carpet and was amazed how well it actually vacuums and picked up. Huge bonus being that it mapped and cleaned under our king beds, which are difficult to move and clean under. Very happy so far.

For anyone that owns these, are there any maintenance tips or spare parts that would be worth picking up proactively?

I don't know for sure. It does a medicore job of picking of dry wall dust along the edges but I do not notice fur since I assume it picks it up. The robo vacuums for me are to supplement my weekdly manual vacuuming

I bought this and as my first robot vacuum and it's awesome after you get used to it. It's a very simple mechanism, spinning brush pulls trash towards the vacuum, "mop" is basically a small water tank that drags a wet pad across the floor with the water tank keeping the pad wet. Not too dissimilar to a swiffer wet. It's great for daily maintainace of your floors before they get too dirty. You hide your wires and pick up stuff off your floors first time you use it, let it run and map the house, set no-go zones where the robot will struggle/get stuck etc or where you can't hide wires.

Pretty good at climbing rugs, climbed over some flat char legs before as well but I just make those areas no-go zones.
Starts up super fast and goes to work. If it's lost it positions itself super quickly.

I got a dreame l10s with a camera since and let the Roborock be used by a relative, and the dreme technically cleans better but is definitely more of a headache to use and takes forever to get started, if it needs to get picked up to remove some stolen wires etc it will mostly get lost and not know where it is. Object detection is about the same as the Roborock as well.

Hoping this comment is useful for anyone on the fence! Overall for 140, it's made its money back on time savings alone, has kept my floors feeling not dusty, and frees up my hands to do other chores I might normally not have the time to do after meals.

It's the best robot for vacuum only use. The mop isn't great. But bang for the buck nothing beats this for strict vacuuming.

If this has rollers like Q8, then grab it since cleaning is so much easier.

100% agree. Same situation. A tremendous upgrade to my Wyze.

Coming from a different brand - this one is very impressive. The only real negative is the dust bin design. While large - it does not fully open to drop contents. You can remove the filter for a larger opening - but if you have pets - be prepared to pull a filter shaped bar of hair out every time you empty it.

I knew this going in from review/tests I have watched.

Otherwise - happy. Above is just an annoyance.
You are supposed to pop the filter off to empty it. That's how it's designed. Pop off the filter, empty it, tap the filter and put it back.
