If you even suspect that Straight Talk might cancel your order do not use PayPal for payment.
Straight Talk canceled my order but never refunded my payment. 4 calls to Straight Talk and one month later and I still had no refund. They actually told me that I had to take it up with PayPal. So I did. And then I had to wait a few weeks more while PayPal investigated. I got my refund but Straight Talk sat on my money that whole time.

The phone will automatically unlock after 60 days even if you don't renew your plan after 30 days.

I recently activated this mobile a week ago, and now I plan to port my number to a new offer with Metro: https://slickdeals.net/f/18117502-iphone-13-free-with-port-in-and-75-plan-at-metro-by-t-mobile?attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3AFalse&src=SiteSearchV2Algo1
Will this affect the device unlock eligibility after 60 days? Looking for suggestions.

Rookie question:

I can take advantage of $50 ($5 off Manual pay) this way?

Select "Autopay" to order one month service for $50,
Wait it delivered,
Activate it,
Turn off "Autopay" in ST account,
Wait 2 months,

Then it will be auto-unlocked, without calling ST's support?

Thanks,

Porting out won't affect automatic unlock. Done this many times. The only hiccups I encountered was when the phone wasn't properly activated or if there was a broader software failure on the part of Straight Talk. I am referring to the Moto G Power 2024 failure to unlock fiasco that was ultimately solved by Straight Talk.

It may not be possible to turn off autopay online so you may need to speak with a representative.

I finally bit on this one. The only Samsung phone I've ever had was an A51 a couple years ago and didn't like it, too much bloatware and Samsung stuff on top of Android. And in my rural area east of Tucson VZW is the worst network, only LTE and slow. But just 60 days until unlock and I can put a T-Mobile MVNO SIM in it and get 5G UC.

Has anyone placed an order and had it shipped yet? Weird that it's been a week and not showing shipped. Also, it says to verify my email and the verification email never comes.

Anyone know if this is GSM? I heard Verizon and thought it was CDMA if there is such a thing anymore.

New Android phones are generally compatible with both GSM and CDMA

My order was said delivered yesterday, but I didn't get it.
I filed claim to UPS and UPS asked me to contact the seller - Straighttalk.

The the most frustrating experience began:

I made 3 calls (877-430-2355), each lasted 20 minutes, and in each talk the customer support HAD NOT IDEA what happened - they were not even able to pull out my order information (by the order# ST sent to me by email). By their accent, I can tell they are all Indian. I highly suspect ST just outsourced their CS to abroad and all our talks were just helping them train the Indians but cannot resolve anything.

Is there any other way to find their REAL customer support? I tried chat too but no one respond there at all.

I can go CC to dispute, but I had set auto payment. So not sure if they will further charge.

Please help if you have any idea.

Thanks in advance!

After trying out the phone for a day, I liked it enough to order a second one. This time I didn't get an order confirmation email. But my credit card still got charged. Hopefully this is not a sign of bad things to come.

I actived my Straight talk A16 5G last week, text "unlock" to 611611, it says "great news, your phone is already eligible to be unlocked", dial #83865625#, it says connection problem or invalid mmi codes.
Anybody has the same problem?

Also, when I turn the phone on, the logo is Verizon, is that normal?

In the phone setting, can't find the sim card unlock status.

I didn't try to insert other carriers sim card to the phone to check unlock status because not sure if that will effect unlocking.

Do you know how to check A16 unlock status?

Thank you.
Same. It says "great news, your phone is already eligible to be unlocked". In the past it would give the unlock date. Not sure why it's doing that

Because there's a glitch in the system. Same issue has been reported in the other TF/ST/TW threads too. Just set a reminder in your calendar.
