Most digital movies are MA. There are some notable exceptions, but MA movies are more common than not.

Some things to note: Apple TV has been reported to have a better streaming bitrate than other streaming services. In my own anecdotal experience, these looked the best on AppleTV when compared with Max and Fandango. HOWEVER! These do not come with the Japanese audio and I've been told the Fandango ones do. I haven't confirmed that yet, but it's something to keep in mind. Also, someone else commented that AppleTV upgrades to 4k for free which is usually true but not always the case (if the distributor has changed etc.) I personally bought this deal yesterday, but that's just my two cents.
These do come with the Japanese audio. It is listed as a bonus feature/iTunes Extra. Same as on Vudu/Fandango.

Movies Anywhere studios: Sony, Disney, Universal & Warner Bros

NON Movies Anywhere studios: MGM, Paramount & Lionsgate
Let's throw a few wrenches in there. MGM has titles (ie James Bond) distributed by Universal or 20th Century Fox (now Disney owned) and the codes are not MA. If one doesn't know James Bond is MGM owned, reading the front Blu-ray package would tell them differently. Smaller studio Relativity Media releases their titles under the Fox banner (you wouldn't know it unless you're really attentive at the small image/print on the back) and the codes are dead. STX films are distributed by Universal and their codes are typically iTunes only. Laika films also use to be distributed by Universal and most of their codes are now not MA.

It would be nice if the studios would sort it out, play nicely, and allow a one stop shop for digital but instead consumers are left to deal with this hodge-podge mess.

I have an S24 Ultra, and when I clicked on your link it said it wasn't compatible with my phone. So yes, it's still limited on Android.
Yeah, I have a rog phone and it's not available either. I assume it only works on Chinese phones or something because apple hardware isn't popular there.
Maybe side loading works

The more you know. I'll have to look into that, I just didn't see it under audio or subtitles but if it's in extras then I take back what I said. Great deal.

I think this version of the app is meant exclusively for android based tv streaming devices like chromecast. No bypass that I am aware of.

I've installed it on both Android phones and tablets, and haven't had issues.
You may be able to install it if you've got a device that misreports type or they misconfigured the play store listing (or possibly if you download outside the store and install manually), but the Apple TV Android app is generally limited to Android TV devices. They want you to use an apple device for app access, otherwise you get the browser.

Hmm, unless it's an issue with phones? I'm pretty sure I've got it installed on a Samsung tablet I have lying around. Personally I've never wanted to watch a movie/show on a phone, and I have an iPhone, so I haven't really thought about it that much. I'm not sure how my brother-in-law watches on his Android phone, maybe he's just streaming through the browser?

It's not available on Android, which i think takes away a large chunk of users. Similar to Microsoft, which only allows their streaming on Xbox or Windows platforms.I have a mix of Apple and Android products, and really dislike this limitation of having to use their website to view content instead of the app.
What's wrong with a website? Most apps are just websites wrapped in a container.

Ease of use and access is the purpose of an app vs a website. It's also an anti-consumer move by Apple to ensure their ecosystems are where it's best to experience Apple related products.

For reference, I can watch Vudu/Fandango at Home from a website or app, but I promise you the app is a much better overall experience of the two options.

FYI, there is an article today on Macrumors that the release of an Android Apple TV app is imminent. It's not clear, but hopefully this will support purchased content as well as Apple TV+.
