Anyone with any experience at all with this brand? I see they have a more powerful jumper on Amazon so I guess that's at least promising

I wonder if this is safe to keep in your trunk for an emergency... Florida weather in the summer can get to over 150 degrees in a locked vehicle. Could this somehow fail and result in a fire?

Insulate it by wrapping it with a blanket, insulation bag etc

Will help, but only to a point. Heat soak will eventually equalize the temp inside the insulation. If you have doubts, try wrapping an accurate thermometer in said insulation and leave in your trunk on a hot day before leaving the battery powered device inside.

Wow, I totally never considered that. I have one of these (diff brand) that we keep in the car year round.

I'm in the NE so we go from 20° to 100°. I never thought about them exploding.

But if you DON'T keep it in the car. What's the point?

There is always a very small possibility that it can catch fire as with anything with a rechargeable battery but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I keep a portable jumpstarter year round in my car under the front seat (coolest place in the car) here in AZ and haven't had any issues. If you are really worried about that you should at least invest in a brand name one.

Put it in a small cooler, better to put it in a steel box first

While hompow has a 6000a jumper starter that has been 3rd party tested and works very well... This is NOT that product.
This has less than 1/3 the battery capacity.
