Yea no thanks. Those chips are ticking time bombs, and I don't care if they "fixed" the bios.

Bought one and had to return it two weeks ago. This thing gets HOT. spent around 6 hours messing with bios, undervolting, etc. nothing could make this chip idle under 60°c in my sff case.

Intel must be getting desperate to include those two goodies. Personally, I'd stay away from 13th and 14th Gen. According to most Tech Tubers like Hardware Unboxed and Gamers Nexus, 12th Gen has been stable all this time.

What's your SFF case? I'm building right now with an AMD 5 7600x. And I specifically picked that processor because it's super efficient.

This deal for the older chip. If you want intel than at least you will know that the chip you got will not be suspect.

Have you looked into getting a contact plate? Gamers nexus I think found that motherboards weren't applying even pressure across the chip when clamped in, so regardless of how well you attach a cooler to it it wouldn't perform as well as it should. Contact plate is cheap, replaces the stock mounting mechanism on the motherboard, gets you an even surface

I'm using this same chip on my home server and it's idling at 48.000 C right now.

I have been running 14700KF for more than one year without any issues. Does it make sense to buy this package and sell the CPU on ebay....I am not sure how much it will sell for?

I have a contact plate on a 12900k. I highly recommend it if you're going with Intel.
That said, I'm not keen on any 13th or 14th Gen right now. Fixed or not, there's still no compelling reason to choose an Intel chip over an AMD.
Unless, you get a really slick deal.

Quick sync is one reason to go Intel over AMD.

Did they just tie a questionable chip, with two controversial games? If they put a really bad SSD with this I feel like this could be a meme-deal, but I think they're serious.

AFAIK there were little to no i5's in that failure grouping.
