The GV will initially show ok but then not go through.
People have been using $5 Visible lines ($25 - $20 referral code for first month).
Yes, it will show Verizon. You need phone number, account number, port-out PIN and ZIP. Text FOUR to 611611 and the four digits should match the last four of your phone IMEI/Account number (15-digit). The ZIP code is the one you entered when you activated the phone (for a new number, or you can check it by logging into your account on a browser). Text NTP when you're ready to buy iP13/port-out to get your 4-digit PIN.
Do I have to wait a certain amount of time before I can buy through Metro again? I bought a similar deal last fall (for the iPhone 12), then just didn't renew the monthly plan.

EDIT: I guess Metro doesn't have much of a time limit between when letting your account expire and placing new orders because I just placed an order for this ip13 and it's only been about 3-4 months since I let my previous metro plan expire. Also, I placed the order just minutes after creating a visible account and porting that new visible number over to metro.

Questions for the experts!!Do you guys know if there is any restrictions on this phone? I would like to get the deal but cancel the plan this same month as I want to give the phone to a relative. Can you guys tell me if that would be possible or the phone will be locked to metro PCS for a certain period of time… sorry the ignorance and thanks in advance!
Phone is locked to metro for a full year. You need to have the account active for at least one month then wait the rest of the year out. Probably why these are much cheaper than other carriers as most do 2-6 months and then unlock.

You should do the eSIM option, the whole process takes about 15 minutes.
Does it go like this?

1. Buy a line with Visible.
2. Select eSim.
3. After receiving eSim info, port number to Metro.

Just curious, is this phone locked to Metro only, or would it work on any of the T-Mobile prepaid plans like Mint? Since they're now all the same company (sort of).
If you have a physical SIM card for those you can order an adapter that lets you use those on this phone. It's what I've done, but it's possible it will stop working with updates and just randomly. Otherwise no, you can't use T mobile or any others like that, only Metro.

Correct. Just did this method.
Note that you will need an IMEI to activate the eSIM from Visible. I used my old phone's IMEI, installed the Visible app and activated the eSIM.

Can I port my number back out again immediately after receiving the phone?I already have a Metro line with a crappy old phone. I'm thinking of porting in my "spare" line from Total, getting the phone, then porting the number over to Visible or somewhere else. I'll use this phone with my primarily Metro number.
Yeah thats fine

i want to get this for at least one of my parents (theyre on iP6+ and iP8). They are already on visible so this requiring a port in seems suitable. My concern is what to do with these for the 11 months that they remain locked to t-mobile. Does t-mobile have any affordable and non useless $35 or less plans, to switch to after the first month, to make this worthwhile?
This would be best done with a burner number via a new visible number. Once you have the metro phone in hand, get them onto the metro BYOD $25 a month line

Yes exactly. You will need to follow the Visible prompts to activate the eSIM on your line then once it's activated you can request the port info and they will send an email and text.

Then you use that info in the checkout process with Metro.

can you just buy one month of service and get it unlocked after one year? You do not need to keep the account active for the entire year, right?

In the process of buying, I Port a number from Tracfone, got a text message from Tracfone the number is transferred. I hit continue to pay, then got a "oops something went wrong" error message. I checked with Tracfone.com, my number is not listed with them, so frustrated.
