I agree MSI is a more reputable brand. If support were a concern, I could see that being a factor. However, I doubt many people are going to RMA a $16 drive. The majority of the remaining SATA SSDs are going to be one of a handful of designs. There's a high probability that several of those other drives are made by the same company and have the same internals, except for possibly the NAND.
As for this drive, MSI specifies it uses the Phison S11, which to me is a plus. The SMI 2259XT seems to be the most common alternative, and I've had multiple bad experiences with drives using it. MSI does not specify the type of NAND (besides 3D, which they all are), so it's possible it's now QLC. The SSD database (which I wouldn't put too much faith in) shows variants of this drive coming with TLC from either Kioxia or Spectek. Kioxia is fine, but I'd rather avoid Spectek. Spectek is the brand Micron uses for the junk they're too embarrassed to sell under the Micron or Crucial names.

For my own computer that takes an SSD, I'm sticking with a Samsung 870 EVO which until recently you could get refurbished 512GB models from BestBuy's Ebay store for $35 but they just jacked up the price.

#1, they have this in the peripherals section.
#2, looking at their other listings, they are on drugs. $780 in the "blowout clearance" section for a RX 7800XT.
#3, Same clearance section, they have a dell "mobile workstation" laptop with images of a freaking desktop workstation.
#4, Same clearance section, they are selling an overpriced Dell desktop, in one part they say it comes with an intel i7 13700K, In another part, they say it comes with a Ryzen Threadripper Pro.
They obviously have no clue what they're looking at when it comes to PCs or components. If you order this, don't be surprised if you get a thumb drive or a laptop battery instead.

Looks like Woot buys MSI's overstock and refurbished hardware, as it usually gets listed in large volume. Their pricing is all over the place as you mentioned. Some deals are amazing and others are laughable, so you have to dig a little to find the gems.
